All I know is there are good buck to doe ratios on just about every LE unit and Private property we here about. It seems like all the deer are somehow migrating themselves or getting help to these areas. Example: I used to hunt the Book Cliffs before it was LE entry. It was open for a couple of years after it was 4pt or better. While it was open we hunted there back in 94 or 95. We hunted the whole hunt and only saw one 2pt on the way out. The same areas I hunted when, I drew LE tag. Now the deer where everywhere. I mean they are everywhere now out there. The buck to doe ratios couldn't have changed that much out there that fast. I know the first couple of years they made it LE they were pulling Monsters out of there. So you got to ask yourself. Are the deer being pushed onto these units, by the DWR? It just seems funny how all the good PUBLIC spots we all used to go to now contain minimal bucks. I hunted So. Eastern this year. We seen a 30 inch, a 29 inch, and a 27 inch come off PRIVATE ground that borders So. Eastern PUBLIC unit. I have hunt Northern, Northeastern, and Southeastern units the last 5 years. Numbers of even decent bucks are way down. Post your experiences in any of the units in Utah.
