Now that the decion is final, What happens to enrolled people who have killed their two deer by the end of 2011? 2012 would be their third year. Are they still uneligabe to hunt 2012 when the rule change happens? Or do they just look the other way since you are getting hosed outa time and money?
The time and money isn't an issue really to me because I knew full well that it is clealy stated that the program is subject to change. Thats fine I have been in the program now 7 years. this is my third go around. I am just wondering how they will sort out that whole aspect.

Let me state that I am against the dedicated hunter program.

But with that said the only fair thing to do now is the start the ball game all over again for those that just finished their term, and to honor those that just started for the balance of their term, albeit under the new unit rule.

Have a good one. BB

So basically, you draw the unit, then apply for dedicated.....not sure about existing phase-out for 2012....

So what happens for those of us already in the program for 2011,2012. Looks like 2011 will be unchanged, but what about 2012?

Is Anus going to refund my money and pay me a wage for the hours I have completed. I fulfilled my requirements they should fulfill theirs. I see lawsuit happening there.

This doesnt affect me, since 2011 is my last year in the dedicated hunter program, but...

I think that those Dedicated hunters who are in their last year in 2012 (who have not harvested two deer), should be allowed to hunt in 2012. Not necessarily all three hunts, but they should receive a tag. Those hunters contracted with the state to join a three year program in which they were guaranteed a tag for three consecutive years, or until they harvested two deer. Value was given by those participants, thereby perfecting their portion of the contract. If the DWR cancels the program without fulfilling their portion of that contract, wouldnt they be considered to be in breach?
I agree, sounds like the DWR is opening themselves up for some legal problems if they dont address this. All it takes is one guy who wants to prove a point...

We know that there are less than 10,000 dedicated hunters that would fall into this category.....Give them a tag in 2012 and be done with it. Start the new Dedicated hunter (1 year program) in 2013.
