If you put in for limited entry deer as your first choice and a general unit tag as your second choice would you gain a bonus point for not drawing your limited tag and a preference point if you don't draw the general tag? I figure if you don't get a preference point for not drawing your second choice general unit tag you will always be the odd one's out.

It would be nice if they would just add the 5 LE units to the 29 units and put your two different point pools into 1 point pool and draw.....

So like stated ubove----Who really knows what will play out...in 2012.

I believe you will never see the limited units combined with the general units. First thing that will cut into there money right you are applying for limited entry deer that cost the $10 application fee, as well as your general deer. also limited entry deer tags cost more once again money. second you will have a lot of pissed off people that spent many years building points for limited entry and hunting general deer. By combining the two you are making them choose one or the other.

I agree it would be great to combine the two but i just don't see it happening.

I assumed that they would have the 5 units stay as a LE "Bonus" points system. The other 29 units would be preference. If someone applies for LE and one of the 29 units, they would draw LE tags first and then draw the "Preference" point tags second (the 29 units).

But that is just me.

They are not on the same part of the application. We are talking two different types of hunts. It would be like applying for the henry mountains as your first choice, southern general as your second choice, and the book cliffs as your third. It can't be done because they are separate applications. This could change in the future, but has not yet . You will still get bonus and preference points for two separate application pools.
