His beams are way longer than 18 inches. I shot a 15 inch spike 5 years ago, and this guy is about twice the size. I would give him at least 25 inches on the beams, maybe longer.

I had glass on a buck just like this on Alta last summer. Cool looking.

if its the buck i think he is he was shot this year on private property the owner had been trying to get rid of him for years but no one could seal the deal.

Yes, I noticed he is a "1x2"
Please accept my apology for refering to him as a "Spike".
:D
He is the "King of 1x2s" I guess.

Not the same buck, I took the video just a few weeks back. He is on government property and there is no hunting.

You're probably right. He looks a lot bigger in person. I really think those beams will go 20" though. He curves pretty good making his beams look smaller.
Either way, he is a unique buck.

Where i live there was a spike that was about the same size as this. Someone killed it this year though. Illegaly. Where i live it has to be forked horn or better.

We had a mature spike only totally straight no curve that was 19". We believed he killed at least one nice main frame 4 point and wounded another during the rut two years ago. Those spikes that length give him an advantage during the rut. Kill It when legal.

Saw one like him down by Red creek Res in Southern Ut a few years back thought it was a spike bull elk at first, we thought the spikes was at least 18".Heard a local guy killed him during the rifle hunt and the spikes was 23" long.

"I have found if you go the extra mile it's Never crowded".

Ran out there this last weekend, didn't see any deer, anywhere... last year saw a big 4 and a big 3 with a bunch of other smaller bucks... Where's they all go...??

This is a cool video for sure- very unique

This is crazy, My daughter shoot a buck just like that this year. I was going to post it up and see if you guys think maybe it's the worlds record 1x2. I will try to learn how to post pics., and tell the story tomorrow.

Here he is the possible record book spike by two, sorry the pics are not the best. There is no field photos I just brought him into work today and took these. He was harvested by my daughter, in the famous southern Utah region, in a corn field. We should have weighed him in took three people to load it in the truck. We have never seen him before this year, so we don't know what he had for horn last year. I originally thought he was regressing, but he was in very good shape and his teeth look excellent, probably the prime of his life. Here is the numbers!!!!
