most units are currently at 18+/100 bd ratio so nothing should change. why they need to take 13000 tags out of the general deer unting do to smaller units is beyond me. most units already are at objected bd ratios. from what i read anus estimated 13000 tags taken out! why? . that doesnt mean that is actual numbers anyway. so why would they need to cut hunter numbers anyway? all your really doing is giving people a smaller area to hunt. if anything wouldnt it make sense that tags would increase if anything. because they can manipulate hunter/deer numbers better?

also is anyone else sick of the over used phrase ''how many bucks have fawns?'' i'm sick of it! look at this p.o.v. well lets do the math lets say 15 bucks to 100 does. 100 does produce lets make it a round number 60 fawns. each buck averaged 4 fawns they rpoduced . each doe averaged. .6 fawns. 40 doe's did not do there job. 40 does are actually unused and burning feed for the hardworking animals.

now for you tards that think bucks dont reproduce. 0 bucks per 100 doe's. what is your fawn crop? go ahead.... take your time, now take out your calculator and type in 0x100 that will give you your fawn crop. so explain how bucks dont reproduce.

there is no evidence that 18 bucks which is adding 3 more bucks cant help get those 40 does' bred up that the 15 bucks didnt do.. there is no evidence either way wheter 18 is to many or 15 is plenty. in much data i went over wene you get up over 25-30+ b/d ratios than it starts to hurt things. adding 3 more bucks should not hurt anything and may possibly help things if that many does are unbred anyway.. lets face it the current system is not working. maybe more precise management is a good thing. just depends on how efficient the utah dwr can avtually be.

First of all give me some real proof of the 18 bucks per 100 doe's, do you really thing the DWR really knows that number? Everytime i hear these numbers being talked about i just laugh my 'A' off. All those number are just "stupid wild "A" guesses.

If 0 bucks x 100 does = 0 fawns...then 15 bucks x 100 does = 1500 fawns?! I think TheOx is on to something!! This is great news!!! Just ribbing you a bet Ox...

if you believe that 15 to 100 ratio is accurate then youve been drinkin a little too much. no one has convinced me that the counts are accurate or even that they have been done. step one is to get out and count the deer we have. if the dnr numbers are correct i will be very surprised. where i hunt and where i go and watch deer through the rut i have kept track and seen a buck for every 11 does. that equals 9 bucks per 100 does during rutting season. since nov. 15th i have counted 1667 deer within a 20 minute drive of cedar city. about sixty percent from the truck. i didnt count any areas twice but some places are close together and if i recognize a buck ive seen before i dont count him. as of this morning i have seen 151 bucks and 1516 does. im not saying my counts are better than the states but i wanted to see for myself what kind of numbers i could come up with. as a side note i have found some great bucks this year and had tons of fun going out every day. the coolest buck i found was a monster typical who only had six does with him

o boy! Im sure the logic will make perfect sense if you went to school at the AF developmental center!

The harder you work the luckier you get!!

I'm not sure but I think something was said about the buck to doe ratio???? Anyway, My last day hunting the northern rifle hunt I saw between 70 and 80 deer and about 25 were bucks! I didn't see the deer complaining about the ratio nor did I hear any negative reports from hunters in the area about what they saw. Those SOB's need to leave our regulations alone and find out a way to screw themselves so they know how it feels. As a dedicated hunter I hunted the extended archery during the rut and saw more bucks than does My dad and I didn't fill our tags but we sure had fun trying. Just getting out and hunting as much as I did was alot of fun. I would rather hunt alot and not tag out than tag out early.... (kind of got off on a tangent, but so did the first post).

If you saw plenty of bucks blood you better keep it quiet, you may know the only place in the state that has enough bucks. Don't let anyone know where this special spot is, because the rest of us have seen just the opposite, 10 bucks per 100 does and less is the norm

Went calling yip dogs the other day on the west slope of the Boulder saw 84 doe's and 6 bucks only two of which were mature 4 points (one 160ish buck) the other 4 bucks were two points.
The sickening thing is Ive called dogs in the same area this time of year and its good deer winter range usually full of deer however there is only 1/3 the deer now as compared to ten years ago. I guess N. Utah is phenominal these days.

Anyone who believes that our buck to doe ratio is even close to 15 bucks per 100 does must be smokin' crack!

I would be surprized if the number would even reach 10/100!

Maybe I can trade deer with the dude up north. You can have some of my does and I'll take your bucks! Deal?
