And you wanted to go hunt mule deer next year,Either a DIY or a Guided hunt, Where would, or Who would you go hunt with? When I say $$$$$$ doesn't matter, I mean with in reason I mean $10,000 +/- or so. Thanks

Santa Rosa Island. Not sure how much that would cost or if they are even conducting hunts there any more.

1- Strip
2- Strip
3- Strip
4- Henry's
5- Strip

I wouldn't need a guide, with any of the above mentioned tag, I would literally live on the unit

I take it you didn't read ALL of my original post.......(rolls eyes) Should I change the title for you?

and I'm talking about a tag that is obtainable like maybe a land owner tag somewhere? and if you think it would be more than 10g's then how much? 15g's, 20g's? not going over 20.

SFW claims the AI expo tag will go for $200,000+
Can you even get a decent LO tag on the pauns for under $10,000?
How many LO tags are issued each year? Where and how much?

If you are looking to kill a 190+ deer while spending something in the $10K range I would talk to Kim Bonnet with Bucks and Bulls. I think you may have to pay closer to $15K, but I think you could get a good shot at that caliber of buck on the Deseret CWMU early hunt, Alton or Ensign Ranches produce bucks like that too. I think there are some ranches in CO where you could do the same as well, i.e. Piney Valley. Definetely can't rule out the Jicarilla, they put more bucks in the book than anybody. Mexico produces big bucks too for hunts in that price range. If you want to hunt the Henrys you need more money.

Dax

There is no such thing as a sure thing in trophy mule deer hunting.

Southern Utah General tag...guide Jason Carter if he would.

If $$$$ didn't matter...I'd go down and whack that tame mahogany bush headed buck at the cop shop in Colorado thats been posted here on the MM website this year.....HEY YOU SAID IF MONEY DIDN'T MATTER???

Thanks guys. I'll check out some of your recommendations..........

Check out this topic. http://www.monstermuleys.info/dcforum/DCForumID6/20973.html

All the bucks in this post came from the same ranch in Eastern MT. We also killed a buck 4 years ago off this ranch that grossed 202. The big Non typ was last year at 238. The Biggest buck this year was in the 180's but was 32 inches wide cheater to cheater. The rancher runs the hunts as a tresspass and you stay in a house right on the ranch. You can do the hunt for under 5k including montana license. Pm if you want and I can shoot you the ranchers contact info. Super nice guy.

For me it would just be a matter of not working and someone else paying the bills. Hunting trophy critters here in BC don't take much money to do. Just look what my buddies and I have done as weekend warriors. Could you imagine if we had four months off a year to hunt? I'd take Aug 1st to Dec 10th off. DIY Stones in Aug, Sept 1-Dec 10 muleys from the high country to the late season with moose and elk when I want a break from chasing monster muleys. I could do all that hunting for well under 10 grand if I didn't have to be a workin stiff those months.
