Got my buck back today. Massey Taxidermy out of Springville, Utah did it and I think he did an awesome job. He looks just like he did the day I shot him. He is the buck in the middle. Sorry lighting is not the best.

the grey winter cape looks a million times better than the ugly brownish red summer cape.

Great buck Congragulations. One question did you have the Taxi save the velvet or go with the spray on after stripping down to the horn. Whatever he did it sure looks good I shot a nice velvet buck 2 years ago the Taxidermist did the save the velvet process. It now looks like I'll have to get it stripped off and the fake velvet put on for it to look good.

Looks great! I have a 8 year old archery buck and all the taxi did was put formaldehyde under the velvet and its still great!

Nice taxidermy Those are some nice trophies The two outside bucks could pass for twins

Great wall of horns you have there and an absolutely beautiful archery buck! Congratulations and may you get many more!!!

Thanks guys. The velvet is his real velvet. Luckily I took good care of it and got it in fast to the taxidermists.

Great looking buck congrats. That is a sweet bow trophy. As far as the comments about fake velvet, if the original gets so bad that your going to strip it, you'd better get the antlers "wam"ed of stained. I've yet to see a decent looking fake velvet mount. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the comments. He went 185 1/2 the day after I shot him. He does not seem to have shrunk too much since I have gotten him back. His velvet was pretty dry as it seemed most bucks rubbed off about a week after I got him, so I think he did not carry too much moisture in his rack. He has over 5" bases and the mass carries all the way up. I feel really fortunate to have taken such a sweet buck. Shot him right at dark and slept on the mountain without a sleeping bag to wait until morning to recover him. He went about a 100 yards form where I had seen him last and was dead in his bed. Long night, but well worth the wait... Hopefully, next year we can do it again! Get a another big buck that is, not sleep on the mountain without a sleeping bag. Cold stuff!

The Pic of your mount might show nice work but it doesn't do that buck any kind of justice IMO. The one pic where he's in your pack shows what a outstanding buck he really is.

Congrats!

Beautiful buck and your wall looks awesome! I'd love to get a nice velvet muley, any of those 3 bucks are a dream...
