So I have 5 points, and keep hearing discouraging reports on western CO. What are the Eastern Units like? Any units with decent public access? What about trespass permits?

Not really, mostly just really high priced outfitted hunts for really big deer...search the archive...this has been asked over and over again.

the only unit that gets any real consideration for public land hunts is 103 - bonny reservoir area. i think it takes quite a few points to draw. dont know what caliber bucks are out there.

Your only real choices are the two grasslands, Bonny, and Pinon Canyon. There are a few SWA's scattered around, but for the most part, everything is private. A lot of door knocking might get you in, but the Eastern Plains are no secret. Best bet is to start researching outfitters and saving your pennies.

Save your money and when you get enough, give ZEKERS a call. He is one outstanding guide. He knows the deer in the area he hunts, by name... You will be hunting 180+ bucks.

how is unit 105 in the eastern plains ? They are killing monsters every year as i just saw another 200 beast in another magazine killed in the Eastern plains. WOW////

What outfitters guide there ?? Anyone know ?

Thanks

Tri-State is the best outfitter in 105 for big deer. Still some big deer in 105, just not the quantity or quality of 10 years ago.

I live right on the border of 104/105. I have 3 or 4 bucks cruising around my yard that are shooters. I hunt the high country though, can't beat it.
