I have 0 points and put in for the henry mountains this year. Figured I would start scouting now(spring fever). Or atleast finally go see what all the fuss was about. Found 4 bucks that looked promising.

Found a buck that was killed and eaten that had lost his horns and just started to velvet over the bases. Looked like a giant from the size of his bases. There was also another doe that was killed 100 yards away.

Fun county...

I did find a buck similar to this biggest buck on the Northeastern unit scouting for elk last weekend. He was also with 3 other promising bucks.

LAST EDITED ON May-16-11 AT 11:33AM (MST)[p]Isn't the average age of harvested bucks on the Henry's 3.5 years old? I could swear I saw that on the DWR website once.

It is amazing what good feed and genetics can do. Those could be awesome bucks. Thanks for the pics.
