Nevada Unit #81

I just found out that I drew a tag for Nevada Unit 81. From everything I can find out, the weather is the crucial element in this hunt. Assuming that I don't get completely snowed out I think it should be a great hunt. I'm looking for any input anyone would have from good places to camp and access to deer migration routes. If anyone has anything to share, I'd really appreciate it.

I've hunted it the last couple of years, depends on the weather. Looks like you have the rifle hunt? I wouldn't be camping that late unless the weather is unusually warm...which it wont be up there that time of year.It could possibly be -20f or less. I saw -24 one day, -14 the next few days. The migration will be over by then for the most part. Bring tire chains, you might be glad you did. I have a muzzy tag there this year.

THE CLOSER YOU GET TO I-80 THE BETTER YOUR CHANCES WILL BE.DEER MMIGRATE ACROSS SOUTH OF 1-80 FOR THE WINTER. I HAVE KILLED A 195 NET AND MY PARTNER KILLED A 189 NET, BUT WHEN THE BEST HUNT WAS THE FIRST WEEK OF NOV.GOOD LUCK IN YOUR HUNT.

Hey thanks for the info. I'm looking for anything at all about the unit. I talked to the game biologist for that area and got some ideas from her. Right now I'm still trying to narrow down some areas to start looking.

lynard, my boy drew this same unit as well. I am also trying to find info. Do you have the biologist's number? I have no idea where to start in this zone. My buddy had this tag years back and did well, but according to him the rifle hunt was earlier. He hunted up by the old Winecup ranch. Now I am worried about the weather conditions that time of year and where we are going to stay.
