Wyo Leftover List

If you buy a general leftover deer tag, can you hunt anywhere in that unit? For instance, Region J has 1096 deer leftovers. If I buy one of those when/where/what type of deer can I hunt?

Thanks

Out of those units do you have any one that might be better than the other. I usually hunt in southern Colorado. I normally take horses and drop camp. However I wanted to do something different this year. I hunted near buffalo and took a 140's deer on private land. Wanted to do the DIY this time.

Don't want any honey holes just a lead.

It's WYOMING!! There are big deer everywhere...deer numbers might be lower in certain leftover units but if you put in the time I think a guy could do it in any of those units...

T264---Rather than tell you how and where to look it up I just did it and here it is.

You can hunt all units in Region J, except for #60 that is a limited quota unit.

Here are the unit numbers, dates, and what you can hunt:
Unit 59---10/15-10/31 Antlered only
Unit 61---10/1-10/14 Antlered only
Unit 62---10/15-10/31 Antlered only
Unit 63---10/15-10/31 Antlered only
Unit 64---10/15-10/31 Antlered only & with archery tackle only in 2 management areas in the unit
Unit 65---10/15-10/21 Antlered mulie or any whitetail
Unit 73---10/15-10/31 Antlered only

4x4---I don't hunt down in that part of the state and can't really offer any suggestions. I would put a feeler out on the Wyoming Forum for some help and there are several guys down that way who will probably chime in with some information to help you out. Good luck---MIKE

With permission, can you use the general tag on private property as well as public?

Thanks for the inf- btw

Ya might want to look at region F leftover deer tags too.

It is one of those regions that has alot of Nov.1--15 LQ hunts but you can hunt the same dang units up to Oct 31st on a gen F tag.......Leftover.

Quite a few HMA's and WIA's to boot.

I have had two great leftover tag hunts in Wyoming. One was antelope and the other was deer, but keep in mind that these tags are leftover for a reason!
You really have to do your homework to one: find a place to hunt that is not locked up, and two: find something worth shooting.

Any way you look at it, a leftover tag is better than no tag at all.
