Got some closer footage of this old boy last night. The music isn't working on YouTube for some reason... Oh well, he needs no sound to appreciate... I decided he's a 10x9...

Also, great to meet a fellow MMer out there..!

question is when you shoot him do you mount with the messed up ear or do you get it fixed?

interesting thing is that this buck doesn't appear to be an old buck. maybe 4.5 or 5.5 yrs old. he still has a lot of potential left in him.

It was a big bodied 2 point.

SO . . . I am guessing witht the corn blowing in the back ground this is Syracuse, UT?

I really hope you don't go after this guy with a bow or anything else. Cause the hunting boundaries are still east of I-15 until you get up past Tremonton area.

That is an awesome buck though!

Very cool video . That bucks goofy ear and the sittin down was fun to watch .

So the guy at the water tank was too far away for a shot or what ?

This is the best honey hole anyone has ever given out on this site. If I can't get him with my bow, I will make sure the bolts on my deer guard are tightened up and give him a shot tonight. I have been studying google earth all day, and I know what field he is in. Thanks for the info Browning.

Thanks for sharing BrowningRage. So...have you named this deer? Floppy? I was thinking Jail Bait, because of the temptation to trespass or discharge weapon in city limits?

Hope you don't mind, here is another clip, let me know if you want me to take it off.

So Browning posts video for us to enjoy never says he is hunting the deer. Immediately the response is I'm going to beat you to it or don't think of trespassing etc. You guys are great! Wasn't there a post yesterday by someone about why people don't post much, man I can't guess why.

Im with you Lone_hunter that rooster is amazing.

Pretty sad when a rooster is a less common sight than a monster buck.

Thanks for all the responses guys... I'm not hunting him because I don't have an archery tag, and quite frankly, I don't have permission to trespass...

It was great to meet Dobber out there... and to follow up on his HAC... And thanks for adding your video...!!

Honestly, if the buck is harvested by that kid- i'd really just love to see it up close...

I hope he makes it a couple more years, I agree he only looks about 5 years old...

I'll keep an eye out and see what transpires...

Thanks again everybody...

I am speaking from experience. 5 years ago my little brother shot a nice sized buck with a bow in west layton corn fields. He got a warning ticket. Fortunately the game officer took mercy cause he was 16 at the time, and this was his first buck with a bow.

Now realizing that things may have changed? I called the Ogden Regional Fish and Game office. The gal there said that they no longer regulate those things. BUT you would want to check with city ordinances to see what they may or may not restrict. SO if the buck is on County land out west there, then you will be fine to go after the buck. IF he is on City boundaries then you better check with the city, but most cities now say there is no big game hunting allowed within city limits. Better call Syracuse City.

Hey Browning, what are the Syracuse regulations for bowhunting. I had heard the the City had nixed it within the city boundaries a few years ago? Just curious.

Do you know what happened to the bigger buck that was hanging our in that area last year?

Yelum- As far as I knew, there was "No Hunting" in Syracuse, but last year a guy on here said he inquired and was told bow hunting was permitted... Since I didn't get a tag this year, I didn't bother to find out for myself... As far as the other buck, rumor was that he got shot illegally last year. But it sounds like he may be around from the post by MuleyMinor above. I have seen this NT on 5 separate occasions (every time I go) but have yet to see a big typical...

wrt- Who is your brother...?? PM me, there are a few guys I see down there...

Sweet buck! I've never seen a deer sit down like that...that rooster had to have been photoshopped, there aren't any in Utah. :)

Traditional >>>------->

Thanks BR.

The buck in the video isn't sitting, it's squatting to pee, much like this buck.

Huntz, is this the buck you have a picture of. Not sure is this is the same one in the video, but he is similar

Thanks for the pic Yelum... That buck was runnin around down there last year... The first night I saw the new NT I thought it must be the same one- after getting closer, I don't think it is though...

Also- I just thought the idea that the buck sat down was funny... I figured he was peein...

:D :D

BR, when I watched your clip, I never thought for a minute it was the same buck from last year. He looks too young. But the point configuration is nearly identical, just not as heavy as last years buck.

Yelum

He sure is a nice looking Buck, He does look young, That some nice looking corn(guess the farmer in me is coming out) LOL

Good looking pheasant too.
