My cousin put in and drew a tag for this unit. Just wondering what type of animals to expect for this hunt. How likely is it to harvest a four point. Even better does anyone have any pictures of deer harvested on that unit

Thanks in advance

I have NEVER EVER HUNTED THE SNAKE............... BUT I HAVE HEARD IT SUCKS. I DO KNOW THE AREA AND NEVER SEEN A GREAT BUCK AND I HAVE HAD PERMISSION IN THE PAST AROUND THE PROPERTY . CAN YOUR COUSIN TURN THE TAG IN.................... I WOULD IF I HAD POINTS.. MOP.

Is this truly a reachable goal in all honesty i think he would be very happy with that type of buck. He has hunted for 18 years and has taken one mule deer. It was a dinky 2 point

If his hunt dates are in Novemeber, he should be able to harvest a decent buck. There is a Walk In Access property that you can get on and glass that whole CWMU. The propery belongs to Tim Munns. Go out there and hunt some doves and take your spotter to see what's moving around on there.

A few years back I was hunting chukars on that Munns property and I looked over to the CWMU and saw well over 100 deer running all over the lower hills of Rattlesnake pass.

I think it could be a great hunt if the dates are right.

I would definitely take advantage of the scouting opprotunity from that WIA.

Matt

I wouldn't shoot anything smaller than 20 inch buck. Take a good spotter and do a lot of glassing. I would probably hold out for a bigger buck until the last day or so.

His hunt dates are September 28- October5. What should he expect with these dates as his hunt time.

according to the proclamation they do not have a NOV hunt but i would call the DWR to confirm that the operator does not have a waiver to hunt in NOV.
