Saw my first hard horn buck of the season today. All the 2s and 3s were still packin velvet but this guy was completley cleaned up.
He's not the biggest buck, but a good representation of the area. The photos are a bit foggy but thought you may enjoy them anyways.

My brother in law shot a big buck yesterday in Southern Idaho that had his horns all polished off. Of all the bucks they saw, this was the only one that had no velvet.
 
I thought I should add that their coats are really turning grey this week, and thier faces are getting white as well.
The hard horned buck is a 22" 4X4 with eyeguards.
 
I saw 6 bucks today all hard horned, this is Nebraska we lose velvet earlier than west of us. Somebody on here probably knows the scientific why?
