I got a picture text message of a Monster 5x5 Typical Muley shot with a bow. Says 220+ and it looks like it was shot in a field. It also says Ut Valley. He's wearing a blue shirt with blood all over it?...Is this a photoshop job???
It's suppose to be on a future Eastman's magazine as well as several others. I don't want to share the pic if he's waiting for the magazine to come out, but if someone knows this guy or knows of the buck I'll send the pic via Email and you can post it! It's not on me! lol

I just want more info on how he was taken! It's a filthy gagger buck as Founder would call it! btw The reason for the new account is cause my other account "OdoyleDrools" isn't letting me log in. In case ppl think Im just being dumb.

PGAJake

ive never understood the whole "i dont wanna post the pic cuz they are waiting for the magazine" my entire story was on MM last year and my story of my Henry mtns buck last year was still in 2 magazines.

If yer gonna tease us with this crap just post the friggin picture.

Probably the same buck I heard about that was killed up Provo Canyon in a residential area. The story I heard is it was pretty much tame and actually shot as it was coming to eat out of a flower bed.

You brought it up, so show us the pics.

That's to bad if it's true. Pic is coming as soon as I get to work:). Sorry if I bothered some of you, I just wanted to be respectful of the hunter. But I found out now from 3 ppl that it wasn't much of a crazy hunt so I'm posting the pic!!

It's a monster no matter where this beast lived! Grats to this guy!

What a toad. He looks huge. Great mass and character on that rack.
Congrats to the hunter on an awesome buck.

I'm calling BS, photo shop, winter coat not all slicked up like they should be this time of year. Also look at his hands where they touch the rack.

Just my $.02 cents

Nice buck though.

I'm 99.9% sure that's the same buck I heard about. Shot it in a person's yard as it was coming to eat flowers and it then swam the Provo River and was retrieved on the other side. That's why it looks wet, because it is.

not BS, i actually know this kid, He got lucky!!!! REALLY
more like 210 if you ask me on the score tho.

RE: The Flower Bed Buck!

wow what a beast. that is weird how his hands touch the antlers and are just a blob????????

>not BS, i actually know this

So what's the story? Inquiring minds wanna know..

Wow that is crazy!!! This is my little brothers best friend...I was on the wrestling team with him in high school....had no clue he killed this buck! Time to make a phone call lol

i can't see 220. It would have to have a 210 inch frame roughly and the main beams look to short to reach that mark, no G1's to speak of and lacking in G3 and G4th length as well. Still a great buck and it'd be hitting the ground.

awesome looking buck! hope the story id correct. looks like the oaker mtns in the back ground. kinda looks like its up around camp williams

Thus is messed up. I work with the kid. Was killed in a totally different area than were the picture was taken they put the deer in the field to have a nice picture. Deer scored 211. Sad thing is he probably has no idea about this web sight thus doesn't have a account to defend himself. This kid is the most down to earth kid well deserving and people have to bash manly over being jelous. We all should be sportsmen and be happy theres deer out there on public land that are monsters.

The hunter was my cousin, he is a great kid and very humble, and they are right, he had no idea that it was that big, just though it was nice. The reason he is in street clothes is because (like many other archery hunters have had happen) the deer ran off and could not be found for a few days. the photo is a camera phone, and there are two small cheaters off the back side that are really unique, he is holding them. I personnaly helped cape this deer and we roughed him at around 208.

I will leave the story up to him, I doubt he will submit it to eastmans. As for the second part of my comment. This kid was 100% legal. The rumor mill gets rolling and people say things that arent true and try to discredit people for their success. The animal has legs, it walks, and just because it was seen at one particular spot does not mean thats where it was shot. I am sure the cell phone shots came from the a*&^hole that ran up into the taxidermist driveway and snapped shots, and was INSANELY jelous and (a little crazy if you ask me.) BTW,the same a hole that took those pics did call the fish an game, claimed it wasnt tagged, and some other things. The fish n game investigated and returned the animal the next day finding that everything was done legal. So please dont start rumors about something until you know the FACTS! and congrats to the hunter for his success, I cant think of a person more deserving and humbled by what he acomplished.

That is a very impressive deer. Utah County? Cool! I don't normally think of Utah County for deer. Congrats to the hunter.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-22-11 AT 08:26PM (MST)[p]Never said or even heard anything about it being an "illegal" kill. Maybe unethical, at least in my book, but not "illegal".

Answer me this, was it pretty much a tame buck that was killed in someone's yard in Provo Canyon? It's gotta tell you something that he took it to a different location for that picture.

Wow well it's good to know that he killed a beautiful trophy 100% legit! I was hearing crazy assumptions and It sounds like this kid is a decent guy who would rather not flaunt his trophy. This could have gotten ugly real fast if ppl here didn't know the kid personally! Bunch of dirty savage hunters we are!!!!:)

RE: UT County 220 5x5 Killed

Well, like I mentioned in my previous statement, I was not present when the animal was shot, so the exact location is not known to me either. That is what upsets me is the rumors that it was killed in a yard. I just think that if you dont have proof of something then you shouldnt mention it. As for the picture, the deer was found a couple days later, and he spent every amount of time possible looking for the animal. If you shoot a deer and it runs a mile away would you drag it back to the location of the shot or take pictures where it was found? I know I wouldnt have ever thought of taking it to the site of the shot. And if you think about it, it was investigated, it was confirmed legal, and if it had actually been killed in a guys yard like its being said then there there would have been a poaching conviction and tickets for shooting in city limits.

Utah County has a lot of big deer, I have hunted around Provo Canyon, A.F. Canyon, and a few other spots around there and have seen many "toads", Im just not quite lucky enough to get an arrow or bullet in anything over 170ish.

This is a great site with a TON of great sportsmen willing to give advice, help, and comments. But I do see some comments that make me wonder... With all the negative things going on in this state right now, pressure from anti's, Wolves for hell sakes and the obvious decline of deer populations with a state thats either unwilling or unable to concive a way to correct the problem, I feel that members of this site and others really need to be banding together and showing support for one and other instead of questioning things based off of rumors and or jelousy. I am sure that when he finds out his picture is posted on this site without his permission he is going to be upset, and even more upset when he reads what is being said about him. This is his second deer ever and his first with archery equipment and I sometimes think that when controversy happens like in this case it can turn people away from the sport we all love. And right now I think we need all of us we can get!!!

I know the hunter very well and will say that he is one of the most down to earth kind good guys I know. He wouldn't ever do anything illegal or unethical. I need to make a quick call and get the real story from him

If it sat a couple days then the cape would be worthless. Great buck and too bad recovery was a problem.

Awesome buck. Congrats to the hunter. If I was a the taxidermist with my buck and someone was taking pics of my buck and acting up...I'd get a little irritated.

RE: UT County 220 5x5 Killed

Say what you want, but I find it interesting that the DWR was involved at all, and that a personal friend says it was taken to another "completely different" location specifically for the picture to be taken.

I don't know the person or his character but I heard it had a small entrance hole and the hunter said it was shot with a field point.( or a bullet others think.) that is the word on the street. Either way it all sounds a little fishy. But its a beautiful buck!

iam not the flower grower. iam not flower eating big buck killer. all i want to know is what kind of flowers /????

Thats the problem velvettines, you HEAR things, and i didnt mean that to be rude towards you, its just sad that people say things like that to discredit somebody they dont know and have no proof of it being shot with a field point or a bullet, just irritating I guess

RE: UT County 220 5x5 Killed

Is this the same buck? i got a text from a buddy with this..

RE: UT County 220 5x5 Killed

MAN!! That is one INCREDIBLE buck. If I'd run across this buck in the field he'd still be out there running around....cuz I would've pissed my pants and been too busy trying to pick my jaw up off the ground to nock an arrow!

Congrats to the hunter! If he can hang that buck on his wall, look at it every day and smile being proud of how he harvested it then I have no problem. It's too bad he lost the meat though, that's the only disappointing thing I've read here that has any substance to it.

The comments in this thread are the reason many guys opt not to post pictures of their bucks, bulls, etc. It's unfortunate really, and like was said by someone above us sportsman really need to work TOGETHER to protect our rights, land access, wolf tags, etc. etc. etc. I bet you the ANTI's don't piss and moan, and belittle eachother for the methods used in a protest or how one of them did this or that.....think about it.

RE: UT County 220 5x5 Killed

Wow What a Monster.

Congrats to the hunter that thing is a toad.

RE: UT County 220 5x5 Killed

Unreal buck. Wow that truck pic shows how wide he really is! How does this buck compare to the Antelope Island bucks that the Sportsmans tag will be going after? Yellum! We need expert opinions here!

RE: UT County 220 5x5 Killed

Sweet buck!

I heard that the kid walked up to the deer with an apple as it was eating begonias in his neighbors yard, put a rope around his neck, led him around town for awhile, entered him into a circus, fed him cotton candy, took him across the river then jabbed him with a pencil. At least that is the word on the street, oh yeah and that the reson he jabbed him with a pencil was cuz the deer was dissin' him real bad yo for wearing that blue shirt homey. Yeah, that's what they say on the street. Trust the street.

Oh yeah, and PGAJake, I am pretty sure it is "Yelum" with just one "l" because it is "Muley" spelled backwards, not because he yells at big deer stranded on an island in the Great Salt Lake.

HOOK 'EM!

RE: UT County 220 5x5 Killed

hopper, dont feel bad about trying to shut these idiots up. its people like foreman4x4 that get, and keep, this kind of stupid $hit going.

p.s. that is one hell of a buck. congrats to the kid.

RE: UT County 220 5x5 Killed

People just love a good story, If they can't find or hear one they will make one up , I heard on the street(what source is this coming from) that this buck was killed in a yard, OK who yard and did they see a gutpile or a blood trail what town, what day, what time of day,By who,All these facts are asked you would know if the source information was correct or not, NO you still wouldn't know But it would start you on the right track. You would be amazed on how fast that story falls apart or the source starts saying he heard it from someone else becuase like every maked up story you have to keep the fact straight and not ad-lib.

RE: UT County 220 5x5 Killed

I personally know the fam, mainly his brother and i figured i ought to put in my 2 cents. there about as good as people as you can find. some of them are law enforcement so any wrong doing would shock me. sucks how a few people can spread a rumor and even get the thought of wrong doings churning. as far as what i know about the deer is he was shot legally in Utah county and that the DWR passed it off a such. i know where he was originally shot and like any good hunter im not going to give up his honey hole. he did travel a long ways after the shot which is why people were suspicious. anyway i know im just some random guy typing so it doesn't mean much, just thought id vouch for a good hunter.

Sites like these are a joke anymore......i was on the wrestling team with this kid in high school and he is my brothers best friend. As stated above he is one of the most deserving and humble kids i know.....it is sad that degrading things have to be said. Nice job bud on a hell of a deer!!!

So which guy shot it then..? all of these personal "vouchers" and there are two guys holding it, and now, there is another thread, with a third guy holding this buck up in the mountains...

So, for all you guys that know who shot it, who shot it...??

This is like an investigation... :D :D

The second buck in the back of the truck is not the same buck as the one out in the field. BUT it is the same one as on the other post.

It's the same buck in all three pictures. Look at the tag hanging on the left side. I have pictures with my friends and families animals. That is probably the case here.
Great buck no matter what!

Anyone can see that the two bucks in this post are not the same. the G-4's are completely different. The deers left G-4 is quite a bit longer in the second picture (in the truck). Also, look how much mass the deers right G-4 is in the field compared to the one in the truck. Either way, they are both great bucks. I don't know either family or hunter but I'd love to kill a buck that good.
