Was going through my dad's albums the other day and came across a couple impressive pics.

awesome pictures. what did they do with the racks.

those pictures would look good in in a frame in the living room.

Love those classic old deer photo's. Family hairlooms, for sure. Equally as good as having the antlers, maybe better, IMO.

Thanks for sharing.

I like seeing those old pics. Especially those bows! now you wanna call yourself a bow hunter, go shoot a deer with one of those!

neat ptcs...any idea what year and where at???...my mom was raised in Iowa back in the late 40's and she shot one of those bows on her High School shooting team..

Great photos man..!! My grandfather used to kill a lot of deer too. They used to throw the racks out on the shed. He only had one that survived through the years, and it was nowhere near his biggest... Old photos are all he has. I'll try and find some to post...

thanks for sharing

The first two pics were in Eastern Montana in the 50's. My uncle killed the second buck, the crazy cactus buck. The last buck my dad killed in Colorado with an iron sights .30-06 around 1964 or so. I saw the antlers from the last buck about 15 years ago, without the velvet of course, and it is one of the most impressive 3-points I have ever seen in person. I think it got lost in a move, however. The two bow hunters lived just down the street from my dad.

the other day i stopped to talk to my grandfather about the good ol days. and he showed me a buck that was about 32 wide and no doubt a solid 185 class buck. i said WOW thats a heck of a buck. and he said i have shot 4 or 5 that put this on to shame but back then we kept only the meat and didnt bother with the horns.. Love these old pictures like this though!
