Here is my brother's 2011 buck. He obtained a buck/bull combo tag this year and we hunted long and hard for him. After blowing a great stalk on a couple elk the week prior his spirits were down. On the last day of his hunt I had picked out an area I hadn't been in for over 8 years. I had to work that day, I got off early to load up the four wheeler and head out. We hiked into this area after about an hour drive. Just as the sun was going down we topped over a ridge. After a week and a half of grueling hikes my brother was pretty exhausted. He was lagging behind about 20 yards when i topped the ridge. A buck was trotting across the hillside about 150 yards away. I waved my brother over telling him to hurry because the buck was about to dissapear into some cedars. He ran up and took an off hand shot just before the buck ducked into the cedars. It looked like the shot hit just over the buck. Luck was on our side this night as you will soon find out. The buck buck came back out of the cedars just 20-30 yards from where he had gone in. My brother still couldn't crouch down to get a steady shot so he took another off hand shot shooting just over the bucks back. The buck took off and we made our way down to the last place we had seen the buck just to verify he hadn't been hit. Just as I suspected no blood.
With 20 minutes left of shooting light to go, I suggested we just make our way back to the four-wheeler checking a couple small canyons before it got dark. As we topped over into the last little canyon before we hit the wheeler, I glassed down down the canyon, I whispered to my brother "want your second chance?" To my surprise the same buck had made its way in the same direction we had been walking and was now just 150 yards below us. My brother crouched down and I whispered over and over "take your time, take your time." BOOM! Shot rang out and the deer dropped like a sack of bricks! I couldn't contain my excitement. I kept smackin' him on the back. We literally had 5 minutes left of shooting time. We couldn't have timed it any better. The buck sits about 18 inches wide and has 3 points on one side and 5 on the other. Quite a unique buck as you can see from the pictures. Great management deer. It was a great way to end his hunt.
Now it's me out there trying to kill my buck this week.

Good job Tyler, that is a sweet buck for your brother, it sounds like you boys earned it. I will be watching for the one you kill.
