LAST EDITED ON Oct-29-11 AT 11:16PM (MST)[p]Well the hunt is over and when the dust settled I got an ok buck. I scouted a few times and hunted for 6 days. Opening day I passed on about a 21" wide 4 point because it was opening day. Didn't see another buck worth shooting until late last night(friday). I saw about a 27 inch wide nice 4 point about 500 yards out. We decided to sneak up on him and scared some does at the bottom of the hill we didn't see and they ran up the hill and scared all the deer away including the big boy. So discouraged we left and drove around the corner and saw this 3x4 who was 60 yards from us. We watched him for about 5 minutes and he didnt even care. It was like he was toying with us, so we decided we weren't seeing a lot and everyone we had talked to was saying the same so I loaded the gun took aim and smacked him good. The hole you see in him is actually the entrance of the bullet, and no I didn't use a cannon...lol Used old reliable Remington 270. All in all I didn't get a huge buck that I wanted but I got one that I'm happy with, for what we were seeing. He is very heavy and has big long tines. He is 19" wide and 20" tall for those who would like to know. I'd like to thank my brother and my buddy Jason for going with me.
