Due to lack of time and resources, I had no time to scout ahead of time and only had the last two days of the hunt to get out. We're pretty familiar with the area, but wanted to try a different spot so a friend of a friend gave some great advice where to start. Spotted this guy in about the first 30 mins of light last Friday morning and I knew I couldn't pass on him. First shot he jumped like he'd been hit good, but didn't go down. We waited for a minute for him to go down but he just kept walking as if nothing happened. 2nd shot broke his back and he went down, then one more to finish him. Come to find out, the first shot just grazed his chest and front right leg. Why he just kept walking and didn't book it, I'll never know, but I consider myself very lucky to have gotten that 2nd chance. 3X4 not counting the brow tines and 27 1/2 inches wide. My best buck to date!! The other sweet thing is it was only a 150 yard down hill drag to get him to the truck!!

You waited a minute after the first shot...Oh no the binkie boys are going to be all over you for that one.

On a side note good shootin and good buck congrtas.

Great looking Buck! I'm very jealous. I hunted my ass off for almost an entire week and scouted twice during the year only to get a 3x4 19" wide buck. Could never get into them. But its better then "Tag Soup" like some guys got. He is good looking, you should be proud of that one.
