Idaho 2 Day Buck Hunt Report

We had a fun, SHORT hunt in Idaho this year.
We hunted one of our favorite units, General Hunt.

Due to my Sons College Schedule, Work, etc. We were only able to hunt 2 days. In the pre hunt scouting my Nephew and Brother in Law were able to locate some great bucks, but with only 2 days to hunt we could not turn them up.

My Father in Law and I spotted this first buck WAY up a steep ridge. At 78 years old, and fighting Bladder Cancer, he felt he could still make the hike. It took him about 2 hours to get in position, and WHAM. This 23 inch 4 point was down.

He has harvested MANY MANY great bucks over the year, but this one was one of the sweetest.
My Father in Law continues to teach us...Don't quit, pursue your passions, and never give up. WAY TO GO Jerry!

My son, and nephew made a 4 hour hike into some NASTY steep areas to find a small group of bucks. They stalked to within 320 yards of this deer...after much debate and thinking, they decided to shoot him. He is OLD, has a HUGE HEAD, and has palmated short horns. I felt he was a great trophy. I am glad they decided to shoot him.

I have been on some great hunts over the years...but this one has to be my favorite.

We had a great camp, I was with my 2 sons, my Nephew, and my Father in Law. Just a great time!!
Thanks for looking.

Great hunt and I sure hope I can do that when I'm 78. I think about that from time to time. It will come when I won't be able to hunt like that and it is a sad thing when you love hunting.

That was a fun hunt for sure. Loved it. Packing out that second buck was rough. haha.
