I got extremely lucky after not drawing any big game tags in Utah this year and got a Vernon landowner tag. I got the tag on the tuesday after the hunt started and was in the field with family and friends on thursday morning. After first light we started seeing alot of deer. This was the third buck we saw and I could not pass it up. I want to thank my good friends and family for all their help and support. Without them putting a hunt together in 2 days would have been impossible. A special thanks to the Holdens, Thompsons and Gowens for all that you did to help me make this wish come true.

First deer?!

Congratulations and welcome to "the club".

Pretty good deer, too.

Within the shadows, go quietly.

Dandy Buck, and a huge plus to take him with family. Congrat's

He's an awesome buck for sure..!!!

How is getting a landowner tag lucky...?? Does the landowner have a lottery of his own or something..?? Not a "smart A" question, I'm serious. Just curious about it is all...

Or maybe you just felt lucky you had the opportunity to get a landowner tag at all...??

Thanks for sharin man..!! :D :D :D

That's a hell of alot nicer buck than I saw down there after 9 days!!! Congrats!

It was just one of those situations that felt lucky. Late in the hunt, unsold landowner tag in a great unit, third in line for a chance at the tag and getting a discount because of the situation. For once it was nice to fell like I was on the lucky end of things.
