Montana unit 270 Buck hunt, anyone,,,,

wondering if anyone been hunting the rut in unit 270


my wife has a tag, trying to get there next wekend for 4 days,,,

Hope you have access to the lower private ground where the snow has pushed em,otherwise you probably wasted the most coveted muley tag in MT.

I don't know about 270 per se but my son and I hunted just north of there last season. All the preseason scouting and asking locals didn't do as much for us as 1 day of talking to the local F&G officer at a check station. Just a thought.

They're still rutting right now, next weekend it might be starting to tail off.

Snow's piling up, some of the deer will be down on private.
You might be able to bullshit around and get some access to the private, but I don't think you'll need to.

There's a lot of winter ground that's public, that the deer should be using. Should be a fun four days.
