Wierd Freak Buck

LAST EDITED ON Nov-19-11 AT 07:18PM (MST)[p]I wish I had video of the freak buck I saw today as well on the Front. Interestingly, he has a broken rear leg or something messed up in his back end. He has to walk by swinging his azz end around. oddest thing I have seen and you should see his tracks in the snow - just goofy. He is cat/coyote dinner waiting to happen!

His rack is a 2 pt on one side and some goofy garbage on the other. that said I think he is an older deer. While his body is thin from the injury, his hooves leave a track of a very mature deer. I had him at 20 yds and likely should do the right thing and put him down, but I have a few bucks I want to keep after for now.

Looks in pretty good shape. The leg must have been broken when he started growing his antlers. A front leg makes a freak antler on the same side (in this case, the left) and a rear leg injury makes a freak antler on the opposite side. Wierd huh?

That is one big 3 point in the first video!

that is some awesome footage but i think you should turn that buck into the fish and game it wont make it through the winter

I don't know that either of these bucks should be turned into the DWR or culled out. I'd rather there was some natural selection/survival of the fittest taking place. I would much rather see these deer go to the cats/coyotes than a good buck or a bred doe. They are going to take animals, might as well leave the easy pickins so the others have a better chance. My $0.02!

Everything was on the South side of the Mtn near the entrance to the base. For some wierd reason, we didn't see one deer on the North side this year. I think all the does are on the South, so everything has headed over there
