So im debating this issue in the last couple days. With all the expenses in scouting camo, arrows, fuel, food, ect. Should I just save up to hunt privite ground I almost am certian I could save money by only having to hunt a week and killing a great animal instead of going out every weekend and only getting a crack at a few good deer Througout the season. And on a landowner tag I wouldnt have to compete. Anyone else considered this? How much would a hunt on private ground run a guy for a good deer?

why dont you just make it easier and go hunt high fence. Isnt part of the fun scouting, working your butt off and hunting as much as possible?" Save money by only having to hunt a week"? ONly a WEEK! Most of us want to hunt as much as possible, a week is not enough.
Sounds lke your trying to take the easy route.

No I dont think I could ever do the highfence I love the scouting the bivy hunting and gettin out all the time dont get me wrong I just feel like the few good deer I was able to get on the stalk would get messed up by someone who was unaware of the bucks I was hunting and would blow them out. And maybe I just need to be patient and let this new management plan go to work cause I beleive itll have a good impact with the cutting of tags and subdividing the units up.

Is this a Utah question? we have had managment plans where I come from forever.

Ya this is a utah question. Well the last management plant they did away with it was a five year plan which was ended by yr 2 or 3 and that was in question at the rack meeting last yr they claimed it had not worked and people told them they never gave it time to work ending it early. Now Im in favor of our new plan of attack I belive it is going to work were gonna eliminate the utah way of living to do it and what i mean by that is the people with 6+ kids hunting as well as mom dad grandma and grandpa. Your family might only draw one two or not even draw. But thats not a bad thing I like to film people hunt so I always have access to getting out If i dont have a tag no big deal because I love mule deer and I want it all to come back like it was 5-7 years ago.

wstrntines, i have a great piece of ground in utah, i grew up hunting this area and had many great hunts with friends and family, six years ago a guy from california bought the entire mountain from the state, fenced it off, and built a giant house on top. He rarely is even in this state, so if you dont mind jumpin a fence and tearin down a few posted signs, your welcome to hunt with me! my mountain still has great bucks! "this land is your land, this land is my land.............
