We had a great trip but were not able to connect on a buck we did see a couple of small bucks the first day. I talked to the same cow elk hunters you did and they said to hunt a waterhole that was on the edge of the pines they had seen a couple of bucks hit the water, so we sat there a couple of times during the hunt . On the last day my boy got a shot at a 3pt but missed, the buck was coming out of the waterhole as we were coming into sit it. My boy was still happy just to get to shoot at the buck even though he missed, he is hooked now and can't wait for the next hunt. We seen a ton of elk and some very nice bulls and some antelope that came right by camp. We really didn't see that many deer and everybody we talked to said the same, I seen no one with a buck. We hiked as much as we could but my boy was getting tired also. Hopefully you got off the mountain before that storm came, it was extremely windy and snowed up where you were. How did you guys do on the deer hunt and the antelope hunt? Have a great Holiday season!!
