First Post and First Trophy Deer

Since joining Monster Muley?s if I have learned one thing it's that everyone has their own idea of what a trophy is. Since I started hunting I have taken many 140 to 150 class deer and have been very happy. This last year I made a goal to get a deer that scored 170 or higher. I put in a lot of time setting up game trail cameras, glassing and learning the area I intended to hunt. After all my effort I reached my goal, this buck grosses exactly 170 and is the biggest I have killed. To me working hard and reaching a goal made this year worth it. This may not be a trophy to some but to me it is truly a trophy.

Congrat's that should be a Trophy in anybody's book. And you are the only one that matter's good looking Buck he will look good on your wall and in your freezer.

A trophy without a doubt and a bigger buck than the tape gives him credit for anyway............congrats!!

Welcome and congrats. I think one of the things I love about this SPORT is that you can constantly reset personal goals and have exciting new achievements..... or just enjoy the experience..... or BOTH.

The thing is this time of year, so what's next?

Congratulations, thats is a nice buck. Sounds like you had an awesome "hunt". The whole experience is what its all about. Your scouting, planning and actual hunting all came together with a trophy that you can look back on and enjoy for the rest of your life. You may shoot bigger bucks in your life, but the ones with the good 'stories' are the ones that really matter.

I had the buck bull combo tag for the uintahs north slope. I was hoping to get the bull below but the 15 inches of snow that hit the day before the hunt pushed all the elk off the mountain.

The first two pics are of him with my trail camera and the last one is during the rut when I called him into 35 yards.

Way to go, nice buck. I have way more respect for the way you worked your butt off for that 170 buck vs someone who paid a guide to do everything but pull the trigger on a 200 buck.

Congrats, he will look great on the wall. He is definatly a trophy in my book.

Good looking Buck, Wish you had gotten a chance at that bull. Well it looks like a good spot so you are ready for next year.

Great job and a great buck in a tough unit. Most hunters up there walk a way without even seeing a buck or bull let alone a buck of that caliber. Great job.

Jim-

Sweet buck, and great pics. that snow usually helps. Your hard work paid off!....
