No shooting on BLM lands?

Thanks deerbutt! This was addressed in a thread started up by Predator several pages back on the General Hunting Forum. It's more BS from the Libs that we have to watch out for!!!

That is so frustrating. We have been using public land for hunting and shooting since there was public land and now because people are moving into our areas and using it they want to ban our use. I say we pass legislation that says if you drive a Subaru and where khaki shorts and teva's you can't use public lands because you're interfering with our shooting. It is just as ignorant of a statement as saying we shooters can't use land because people freak out when they hear gun shots. just as it is our responsibility as hunters to know and understand property boundaries and regulations recreational users should be held to the same standards. Do you think a recreational hiker that accidentally wanders onto private land would be held to the same level of accountability as someone packing a gun after game. I don't think so. So much for equality for all. I hunt the extended archery plenty and have no problem sharing the land with the hikers. I would hope they can learn to have the same standards for us even if they don't agree with our purpose. I thought we learned to share in kindergarten

Last summer, I was out shooting prairie dogs in the desert. About an hour later, here comes a wildlife officer. He informs me that a person that was walking his dog in the desert called in because he heard gunshots. The officer was kind enough and checked my license and such and then asked me if I could voluntarily refrain from shooting there. I laughed and said no. He understood and left. But yeah, this is the kind of crap that is coming. You get these dang two-bit yuppy whine bags coming into the west and trying to californicate it to their liking. Its sad that there is such spineless, gelatinized, losers out there that consider shooting a crime. A few gun shots may offend them, but a noisy, raucous gay pride festival is music to their ears.

Amen. "Don't shoot bambi!!!" Bet most of their houses are built in subdivisions that are in prime winter ground out of materials harvested from the mother nature they are so diligent about protecting. I get so sick of hypocrites telling me killing animals for conservation is wrong when everything we do in some way affects animals and their habitat. If it wasn't for us the animals would be in worse shape imo.

I sell real estate in Northern Utah and early this spring, one of our bigger clients drove down from Boise for some land negotiations one day. We usually pick them up from the little airport and taxi them around but that day him and his wife said they wanted to drive because of other obligations. We met up with them at the county building for a meeting and I noticed she was driving a brand new Subaru. Not even thinking, I opened up my mouth with the smart ass comment, "Hey Barbara, nice Lesba"..... She immediatly gave me the crazy eye stare down and asked me exactly what I meant by that comment. I studerd and tried to explain that around here the only people we see driving those are lesbians and or tree huggers. NOT a good response!!! Then my worst fears were made reality, she made me drive the damn thing and tell her it was the nicest car I had ever drove!!

Sit tall in the saddle, hold your head up high, keep your eyes fixed to where the trail meets the sky...

Down south here we have had a blm cop giving tickets for shooting on the blm ground. He gave my nieghbor a ticket for littering . They had shot at a few glass bottles. They picked everything and had it in a box. They showed the cop and said we cleaned up our mess and he told them to take him to court and gave them the ticket and walked away.
So in a round about way ,I guess they are ticketing for shooting on blm ground.

earth firster & PETA have infiltrated the BLM and Dept of Game & fish, if we don't get rid of them it'll only get even worse....

There is a new federal law passed that expressly prohibits the shooting of "fragmenting" targets on blm land, such as bottles. I'm sure that is why the ticket was given. It's a pretty new law passed the end of the year some time early fall I think. For one, I'm glad they passed it. The trash left behind by some shooters is sickening. If we don't start to police ourselves, then we will be policed by those who CAN give out tickets...

Yep! Many times it seems like it takes me longer to pick up that kind of litter and junk when I go to the range than the time spent actually shooting! Then people wonder why laws get tighter on all of us--go figure!!!

As a retired LEO, I cannot begin to count the number of annoying shots fired call I have responded to over the years! All were in rural areas where they had every right to be shooting. The yupsters all think it is Rambo after their women or something. In the spring they want some shots fired at the bear in their kitchen though. The whole works makes me want to puke!!
Obummer has to satisfy hos democrat buds while he still has a little juice!! Hope the S.O.B. gets run out of Washington tared and feathered to a tall tree with a short drop!!
