LAST EDITED ON Jan-08-12 AT 12:52PM (MST)[p]A deer cull in Kimberley is probably required, and the meat is to be distributed to the needy and the various food banks in that area.

Now the weird part.

A Cranbrook contractor will be executing the deer for a fee of $350 per animal.

One hundred mule deer will be taken at an overall cost of $35,000.

Does this make sense?

I hope Victoria does not follow suit. It is also interesting to note that a B.C. resident fallow or mule deer licence will set you back the royal sum of $15.

Doesn't make sense. I would rather have hunters take out the excess deer rather than some overpaid contractor. It's a win-win situation for both the hunter and provincial government. Go figure.

Let's see the state has to raise taxes to pay 350 bucks per deer or they could have a hunter pay to kill it.

Governments always find a way to waste money so id say hunters are out.
