Every meeting I listen to, the RAC don't listen to the Public and the Wildlife Board don't listen to the RAC and DWR wants more tags for deer and the old Board don't count what they voted in. So what is the answer to the deer, if nobody listen to each other ??????

Kill em all!

When they're all dead keep selling Permits!

Opportunists can still Hunt even when there's nothin left!!!

Hot Dog,Hot Damn,I love this Ameri-can

You make a good point rperkins! There are many here that have served on committees and been members of RAC's as well as gone to about every meeting known to man when it concerns our wildlife. Although there are varying viewpoints on how to fix deer herds, one thing you will find is the common ground that we all love to hunt those long eared hair balls. The passion is very real and I don't think I'm going out on a limb when I say that every board member and RAC member shares the same passion you and I do. Our elected officials can't do, and I dare say, don't have the knowlege to do what the wildlife board, RACs, and DWR are there to do. The whole idea is to work together and find some commone ground which I don't think has happened yet. I'm hoping that someone finally listened to those of us that spend the vast majority of the fall on the mountain. When we say the deer herds are hurting, I hope they will now believe us.

It's always an adventure!!!

You make some good points Bull. The RAC and WB system is one that could work with some tweaks here and there. The DWR is well aware that our mule deer herds need help, as do the various state game agencies here in the west. They also hear our voices demanding answers. One of the biggest problems that we hunters face is our very own divisive nature against one another. Until we can unite ourselves and speak WITH each other instead of AGAINST each other, it will be one tough row to hoe.

The other thing we can do is educate ourselves so that when we do speak, what we have to say is factual and relevant, rather than the ubiquitous nonsensical ramblings that dominate the forums and coffee shops around the west. It's been said by some on this forum and others, and by certain conservation orgs that the majority of hunters (the 70 percenters) don't take the time to voice their concerns, attend the RAC's or WB meetings, so their concerns should be left in the shadows because they aren't worthy and it's just "tuff for them".

I for one think we, the more vocal of the hunting world, instead of abandoning those hunters, need to bring them into the fold up front and center, and use our combined numbers and voices so that when we do speak, we speak as a cohesive group, loud and clear. Like I said, one tough row to hoe...

I hope the RAC and Wildlife board listen to the sportsmen. They are telling them the truth, that there is not the deer numbers the DWR keeps claiming. The sportmen are willing to do what it takes to bring back the herd. The sportsmen are willing to close areas that need it and cut tags and stop doe hunts, so I sincerely hope that the RAC and Board listen to us and our great concern right now.

I can understand your frustration. I share in it. However, I do think it is impossible for the RAC's and Board to please everyone. Remember there is a large faction of deer hunters that want the opportunity to hunt every year and do not want to see tags cut. I don't think you can say the Board and the RAC's don't listen. I think they do listen, but I think us hunters are so divided that when they make a decision one group loses and say they were not listened to. Or they may make a decision to try and go middle ground betweeen the arguements by us hunters and then none of us are happy and we all say that they did not listen. I personally think they have a tough job....and give them the benefit of the doubt on listening. Another point- each one of us on here has argued our points to the enth degree and yet it seems we don't listen to each other......we are still divided between opportunity and trophy hunting. So, I would venture to say that we don't listen to each other any better than you say the Board or the RAC's do. On the other hand, I do think there have been some decisons made that did not seem to be thought out very well.

Your right Rackster, know one listen to each other and that goes for the RAC, Wildlife Board, DWR, the Sportman, the ever day Hunter, some where we have to come to a common ground and agree, instead of fighting each other, we all know that their no deer, lets find away to fix it.

You are right but with the shape our deer herd is in, we cannot afford to listen to the few who just want the experience to hunt every year. We are not in a position to hand out tags and kill more deer at this point, just because some want to get out in the hills. If thats the case lets make a unit 31 and put them all in it.

You are right soutahunter we haveto biuld the deer herd first and then sit down and come to common grounds, that going to take s while.
