maybe im just crazy, but hunting is my life and i would willingly shell out 500.00 to hunt every year. and the crazy thing is most of my tags would go unfilled because im always looking to outdo my last buck which was 173. i just cannot imagine deer hunting once every 2-3 years, its like giving up part of my life. i dont need to harvest a deer every year to be happy, what makes me the happiest is just being able to go knowing that i just have a chance at my next best muley.

probably the best thing for the hunters that feel that way would be if the state gave plenty of primative weapon tags out, especially in areas where there is remote country and plenty of cover. That way people can hunt and have chance to get a nice buck, yet they don't overharvest the mature animals. Another thing you can do is hunt out of state, 500 bucks can get you a deer tag in most any western state.

I'm sure I spend alot more than that every year unless I'm the only one that has to upgrade or need something new every year. on_target

No, I would not pay 500.00 for a tag.
Hunting every 2 or 3 years is no big deal to me and hunting mule deer means an awful lot to me too. It would just mean I would be spending my time helping those around me more if I didn't have a tag.

There's always next year

I wish I could just get down 500$ dollars on a general deer tag in my home state. I figured between my brother and I we were into our archery bucks about 3400$ dollars this last year., Fuel, Arrows, Camera chips, Food, licenses, camping stuff, archery equitment,Scouting trips, etc, etc, etc the list goes on. Its definetley not cheap but damn its worth it.

Hey sloper!

Did you tell S what you spent?:D

Hot Dog,Hot Damn,I love this Ameri-can

There is no way I could afford a $500 dollar tag. I'm only a teenager so I don't have that kind of money, and I can guarantee that my mom wouldn't be willing to pay for my tag if it was that much, even though she has the money.

No, not $500.00.
I'm happy hunting every 2-3 years. We all spend alot of money. I don't want hunting to be a rich mans game.

I would rather wait or hunt another state than pay $500 for a general deer tag. That is hwy robbery.

piper. how about you take your somebody allways gets my big buck. and hunt some other state,..

I would be willing pay the $500. But there is no way i would be able to afford that every year.

Don't be afraid to live for fear of dieing.

500 dollar tag? No way! That would be a perfect way to get rid of most hunters in this state not to mention the young generation. How do you think a father of 3-4 would feel...that would be 2000-2500 bucks just in the tag costs.

I haven't bought a general tag in Utah since 1999. Why would I pay $500 if I won't buy one at today's price?
However, give me a decent chance at a decent 4-point without orange on every hill and I'd pay it.

It wouldn't be that big of a deal and is still much cheaper than the vouchers, but you could expect a lot more PP hoarding from the residents.

Why are we even talking about $500 deer tags. That is ridiculous. That is the price of an out of state Bull elk tag.

I would love to hunt every year BUT, with the condition the deer herds are in now and the cost of fuel, food, etc. $500 turns into a $1000 really quick. And if my 2 teenagers draw....Wow. A couple a thousand and a chance at the 9000 deer they say that are on the Pahvant LOL. The money could be put to better use....

I spend more than $500 in fuel in August alone driving back and forth from scouting for my general archery tag...I'd be pissed as hell if the tag was that much but if it was...yea I'd probably pay it because ain't nothing stopping me from doing what I love!!

I didn't think twice about the 275 for my limited entry bull elk tag this last year but aint no way i can foot 500 dollars for a general season tag. I might be willing to pay more but not that much. a lot of us can't make enough to barely pay our mortgage and bills and now we need to have 500 dollars kicking around for a deer. I would have to spend the money at the store for beef and hunt with my camera.
