At first I thought he was shedding his antler and it was just hanging by a thread or something. Then he turned his head and it was solid on there.

His left pedicel must really be screwed up at goofy angle to grow that rack down like that.

I'd shoot him if he was an older class buck. He looks pretty young. It would be interesting if you could keep track of old "funky" and see if the antler damage was permanent.

The odd part is that you can't see where the base of the antler is. It's not coming out of the normal area. It's almost like it's coming out of the side or back of his skull.

there a few urban buck around town that have crazy stuff as well. makes you wonder,

Good point. I've seen quite a few weird bucks in town, more than out in the wild it seems...

One wonders if more of the town deer are getting clipped by cars with the injuries affecting antler growth.
