You don't have to have a tag to hunt with him, no need to compete, make sure HE gets the best buck you both can find. Then if it was a great time, buy a tag next year and you both can do it again. JMO

I agree you should not both have tags... My family has been putting in for the Book Cliffs separately for years now. My uncle drew 2 years ago, my dad last year, I will draw next year and I have a bro-in-law, and cousin who will draw in the next 3 years... When we are all there trying to find just one great deer, I think its much better than all of us "competing".

I assume you're talking archery..?? 7 points is only enough for archery it looks like... Looked like last year there were a lot of great deer off the archery hunt out there...

No help on where to buy a landowner tag...sorry...

...I had the archery tag last year and had a great time. I'd love to have the tag again sometime.

Get online and watch KSL some time there are tags for sale on there from what I have seen they go anywere from $4500 up to $5000 for a land owner tag. Good luck.

+1 on ksl classifieds. I see landowner tags on there all the time, usually starting in may on thru till the hunts start. Prices seem to be anywhere for $3k to 5K. You can pic which season you want to hunt as well.

I assume you must be planning on an archery hunt, because with a rifle or muzzleloader he is still probably several years away from being assured of drawing the tag. Seven points for either resident or non-resident has about 6 percent drawing odds.

The MDF banquet of the Tooele Chapter will be auctioning off Vernon muzzleloader and archery buck tags on May 12. You can attend and bid on these if you'd like. I dont know what season your looking at.
