Any good suggestion for AZ deer draw. I just realize I have enough points for most hunt zones. except Kiabab north. So I either gather more points get old or just put in and have some fun hunting in AZ. Maybee get in two or three hunts instead of wait forever. bonus point this year next year I start the draw. Flag is my starting and my favorite spot so I guess all the zones surrounding that area. Whats a good zone. In Northern Az. Want hunt and not wait anymore.

Non Resident, I do know my way around a little bit, went to school NAU and bow hunted deer a little bit back then around, A-1 mount, Army depot seen good buck out there still remember it after all these years. Up on the peaks. Been up and down the major FS rds. I have 5 points now but cant put in this year since I got my first az elk tag for 7e any pointers for that hunt would be helpful too. I have a post for that too. My buddy got drawn for 9 so were going nuts trying to figure it out. We never planned on getting drawn. But i am planning ahead since I have the AZ fever again.
Thanks for any info

Check out some of the Dec. muley hunts they added this year. I don't think that any are in the Flag area, but they area available in some other really good units. 17A/B might be what you are looking for. These would be rut hunts, but it may take more than 5 points to draw.

Thanks that zone is a nice spot that I would never of considered without the forum, will looking into it more always wanted to check out that area and I have some friends that live in the area. Acording to the odds chart on this web looks like I could get one and a bunch more in different zones. I found a couple pictures that someone posted of mule deer in 9 and that made me a little nutty. Will I will be scouting 7e (have an elk tag) and 9(friend has on) this year for rifle elk and next year I will put in for a deer hunt. Now I have over a year to decide and one more point to torwards a tag.

Unit 7 dec rifle tag. I would put 17a/b dec second choice.

This year would be the year to try and draw one of those late rifle tags. Next year I'm betting that some of those tags will be like trying to draw a strip tag... no kidding.

Thanks this year is BP year even though I want to go for it in 7 then I could hunt /and scout for 7e rifle elk which I am holding a tag for. Next year I is better for me.

Thanks every bit get me excited. Planning is the fun part of the program. Now I will consider it.

On top the dec rifle tags in 17a and b, you have the late archery hunt that will be going on at the same time. That's what will be interesting. Still can't figure why they did that.
