500 Less UT Deer Tags

UT will sell 500 less general deer tags than it did in 2011. So it looks like most people will be able to hunt deer in one of the 30 general units this year. No bad considering that the DWR could have cut even more tags.

550 tags seems like nothing when we are talking of a difference between 87,000 and 86,500. I guess that is a start though to increase the size of the herd.

Here is another link. I wish KSL would figure out there is more than one species of deer and not solely a generic.

Looks like they did however reduced doe tags to around half.
