Wondering who has experience in this unit?

Anyone draw the archery tag? Muzzy?

My brother drew the muzzy tag this year. We have been in this unit a few times but just looking to expand our knowledge.

As you may know its a very good trophy unit. Thick country which produces monster bucks. I have about 12 years experience there. More of the archery season. Key areas to put time in; Most popular but produces is Mt Wilson and White Rock. Hills surrounding Hermitage Ranch also. This is where Randy Ulmer has taken a couple giants in the past. Good Luck

Forgot to mention Rose Valley. In between eagle valley lake and echo lake. Not as many deer but I have ran into some good ones from time to time. As well as behind echo lake in foothills off the fields

Is Mt. Wilson wilderness now? We have hunted around White Rocks a little but there seemed to be alot of people. Were you hunting up high or down low?

You talked about hunting the low land in Rose Valley. Is that better in the later season or do you think there are a good number of resident deer?

I havent hunted rose valley in muzzleloader season but I think many of the deer are resident because of the fields. I know this is where many deer winter. You will get away from the people in rose valley for sure. If your not hunting rose valley then up high is always good since its still hot this time a year up there. Mt. Wilson is not wilderness area. The bucks are up there. Challenging hunt for sure with the thick country. Hell of a tag though
