UT draw time

Looks like UT is going to the bitter end of a deadline to post draw results. This is unacceptable. Many hunters plan their vacations around their hunting draw. Waiting until June to plan time off doesn't work for a lot of people.

1) The draw should never be later than May 1. The division should have their counts by then.

2) The spread between ending application date and draw results should never be more than 8 weeks.

If you disagree please state why. If you agree please respond agreed. I'd like to get enough support to bring this up at a RAC meeting. We should get better customer service than this!!!

+1 waiting this long into the year is total BS! It is a joke to wait 3 months for draw results. By the time some hunters find out they drew a tag, its only 2 1/2 months until the hunt. That is not much time to prepare.

I dont care that it takes them from March to end of May to do the draw, BUT, if they did it like Nevada, Draw on Day 1, post on Day 3 the results, then charge cards. Simple if you ask me.

We always manage to make things difficult in Utah. Just send me an "unsuccessful" email so I can move on.

AGREED!!! AGREED!!! Everyone has been stating this for a long time. Why Why Why can't something be done? How much more bass ackward can we get??

I agree that waiting is no fun. But I can live with the wait, as long as things are organized. Once permit numbers are approved, the draw should be done, and posted shortly there after. Then AFTER results are posted they should run the cards. If a card has problems and this can not be corrected then you can give the tag to an alternate. Also if they are sitting on credit card info for two plus months they should be able to check expiration dates before the draw even takes place. Expiration date problems could be a mistake, but if someone is denied for insufficient funds, that is there problem. Give the tag to the alternate and move on.

I think the main reason things are going all the way to the 31st this year is the HUGE MESS and all to possible consequences of the Henry Mountain Draw. One thing is for sure after permit numbers are approved and before they are sent to the draw, ALL numbers should be checked, re-checked and verifed by multiple groups of people. Then after the draw, and before results are posted, emailed and cards are charged the draw results should be checked, re-checked and once again verified my multiple groups. Then you notify those that have drawn tags. I can not think of a worse mistake than to over draw the Henry Mtn any weapon.

I have buddy that was charged for the Henry tag and has yet to be contacted by anyone. He called them yesterday and was told they are still trying to call everyone that was mistakenly drawn. It sounded like no emails until they figure this thing out. My buddy was also in for Moose with one point less than MAX. This is going to be a HUGE mess. I bet the Division is planing to use every minute to figure out how to best handle this. They want to keep as many people happy as possible.

I agree it should not be that hard. In MI it is 30 days after application period ends for results for most things. I understand that THE UT draw is more complex but Two months seems like a very resonable request.

Agreed. The UT time frame is ridiculous. NV now posts results within 48 hours of the drawing. I think the same company does both states' draws, so what's wrong with UT?

Agreed!
This draw is a perfect reflection of how they manage deer ..

It has been so long since I put in I can't remember if it was this year or last.....What did I even put in for???

IF OBAMA SAID SO....SOUND LIKE WHINNERS TO ME or guys that did not draw.
I plan on taking the same month off every year..It will not change whether it's Co, NM, Ut, Wy, Nv, Ca! so whats the big deal, scouting thats BS(maybe start mid June to where the buttons have grown tall nuff to see them through the spotting scope). most years their too much snow to scout!
to be fair I did not read any repays.

Just remember, you Utah chaps are much better off than us Arizonans, who have to wait until mid to late July every year to find out, and can be hunting 4 weeks later on the archery.

Agreed....it unorganized....Utah manages its draw like it manages its deer. Did I miss anything? :)
