We pulled a couple of 3rd season tags in 68/681 and am looking for some advice on some places to start. Appreciate the help.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-01-12 AT 10:38PM (MST)[p]Hornhntr,I hunted it last year i will try to send you a PM over the weekend, congrats on the draw!

Hunting deer 68/681 currently. Finding some
Deer but a lot doe and very small bucks. Is higher or lower better?. We hunted high (10500-11k) for a day but didnt turn up a deer.
Today we been hunting 8500-9k turned up deer but mainly doe.

Never hunted those units, but if it's like any other deer hunting I've done I imagine if you're hunting higher elevations you'll see fewer deer but if you see one it's more likely to be a stud mature buck. You'll see does and young bucks until those mature guys are forced down from snow or the rut is fully on. So it kind of seems like your strategy from here should be based on what you want and whether you see rut activity progressing. If you're trying to kill a 200 I'd stay high. If you're game for maybe finding a decent buck towards the end of the week then I'd stay where you're seeing more deer and something will turn up eventually.
