Just moved here from Georgia and drew out a southern utah archery tag....been doing tons of research, and spending alot of time in the sticks.I put out a camera for a week and pulled it bc I'm leaving town for a few weeks but was interested to see this guy...he's tiny compared to what everyone else is posting, but after chasing whitetails all my life I may sling an arrow at him if its late in the hunt! Will he get anymore length to him between now and Aug. 18? thanks!

for your first mule deer i think it would be a good one. he will not get a ton bigger but prob add a few inches to the back forks. he will not be a monster but thats ok, i say if he presents you a shot opening morning and it being your first muledeer i dont think you should pass unless you have a bigger one spotted. good luck keep an eye on him.
you shoulda just kept your cam up while you were gone. you still have 6 weeks til opener . you may find something better ,but good back up buck i think.

if you dont mind sharing, what unit are you hunting? i may be able to point you in a direction or 2. since this year is the first year of all the units being split up there are a few units i prob wont hunt again around the south so i dont mind sharing what i know.

I'm hunting Pine Valley (unit 30) any help would be appreciated and thanks for the comments guys. The camera is set on a trail between bedding areas and an agriculture field the deer are hitting at night...the block is just to slow em down bc my camera is a far cry from top of the line.
