Beaver General Muzzy Tag

Decided to venture down south this year with having a few extra preference points going into the draw. We are going to chase some muleys around the beaver unit on the general muzzy hunt.

I have some places we are going to check out next week on a scouting trip. Any advice on some other decent places to look would be greatly appreciated. I understand this is a general unit and good info is best learned in the field, on my own. I plan on doing quite a bit of scouting between now and the hunt. PM me if you'd like.

Thanks in advance.

Me and my 65 year old father also have this tag
I had the muzzy elk tag in 2007, saw alot of elk,
but not alot of deer where I was hunting, any help
for us would be apreciataed also. May be my fathers
last good deer hunt.

Thanks in advance!!!

I muzzy hunt this unit most years and will be this year as well. Go to Kevins Conoco on the north exit and just ask where the big ones are;)

Heck while everyone is handing out free information this is the first year I have hunted the pine valley unit. Just bought a house in enoch and thought I would stay closer to home. I am finding plenty of dink 200 inchers....but wont shoot unless its a 300 incher...everyone give me specific coords to all your honey holes that you have put all your hard work into finding. Thanks in advance! LOL!....

While my first reaction is to get mad, I've been around long enough to know that doesn't get anyone anywhere.

Thanks again to those who understand what it means to help out fellow hunters while not revealing your best kept secrets. I'm happy to help people out when they are heading into a new area, and have many times.

I may not respond much after this because I'm headed to the hills in a few days, to find my own "honey hole." Gettin excited.

Haha I am glad you didn't take offense....was just poking fun. I am kinda partial to that mountain.....I am the fourth generation hunter that has hunted that range and know it like the back of my hand. Its beautiful country....hunt hard and you wont be disapointed. This is gonna be the first year where I haven't hunted muleys up there since I was following my dad up there as a little boy. Thought I would just try something new this year and see what happens. Good luck!

Thanks. Good luck to you in your new area.

My brothers and I have a saying that we always use when trying somewhere different. We may think that the area looks prime and we may see some nice animals while scouting. But when the hunt comes around we always say "it's only new to you." Meaning other people have known about it for a while and they will be there when it's time to hunt. So the challenge is to find a place that is actually "New."

Thanks again.
