I know many of you have seen a ton of photos of this guy, but hopefully you will enjoy seeing how he looked this morning. (7-31).

If you get tired of looking at him, you are not a mule deer fan!

Have a good one. BB

Awesome pic Bill - thanks for sharing! I got my first look in person at that buck last Friday. It was cool to see him up close and personal. I just wish he would wander to my unit at sun up on August 18th :)

Hey I've seen this buck alot from pics and he is a great deer!! I would like to see this buck in person so if someone would PM me which cemetary I would appreciate it. I wouldn't be hunting him at all, I have a Vernon Muzzleloader Tag. I just enjoy going out and looking at good deer. Thanks

Topgun,

He's at least 5 years old. I have pics of him for the last three years with the first pics of him being a 165 -170" typical four point. Last year he was 218" with the split beam due to the injury on his left flank. I'm guessing he was a 2 point yearling and a smaller 3 or four point in year two.

And bugling billy, I ate my lunch 10 feet away from this buck today too! Nothing gets your mind distanced from work like starring at heavy velvet antlers.

I wonder how many StickFlippers will be Camped on him opening day?

If you guys are interested in scoring him, I would be happy to post a few more photos. I have some of him sideways and turned a few different ways. If there's some of you that want to try your skills on scoring him, here are a few more photos that will better help you.

I'll be the first to throw out a random guess I say 201 and that might be a hair high. He is an awesome buck and even better at 10 yards. It's no secret so i'll let the cat out of the bag for you folks that want to see him, it's the cemetery across the street from Rice Eccles stadium in SLC. Sorry if that pisses any off.

211 and change. I like how he looks this year better.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-31-12 AT 10:27PM (MST)[p]Wow good for you but the rest of us don't have to kill an animal to appreciate it, we all love seeing big bucks whether there in town or in the hills. he looks the same either way. Oh and do you ever "scout" the henrys or San Juan what's the point Of looking at "unkillable" deer unless you have a tag every year

Z,

Dude chill out. Remember what the CO told you, another outburst and they stick you back in solitary. And take your freakin meds too.

There's one Smart Buck left in the State & this is the Buck!

I'll Guarantee you there are StickFlippers devising Plans as We speak on how to Ambush this Buck!

Amazing he made it last year without getting killed by one of our Ethical Hunters!

Bessy you are a real work of art! Real Bowhunters and Real Rifle hunters wont even let that thought cross their minds. And many people enjoy seeing bucks like that, even though their not huntable. There are a huge number of people that just enjoy seeing him and dreaming, without the thought of having to kill him to enjoy the moment!

And just for you information, the sickos out there, that entertain such thoughts, come in all forms, Rifle people, muzzy guys, and archers. Thanks goodness there are far more good guys watching him that would turn in anyone who tired anything stupid!

Whats crazy bess, is that this smart buck, left the safe confines of the cemetary and headed to the hills through all the hunts and the extended, only to return in late winter unscathed.

I have no clue how he survived the cars, let alone the arrows.

BB-

Awesome work as usual. I think your comments toward Bess are a little off though. I believe if people are willing to trespass on land where there is live ordnance (he went 2 miles into Camp Williams to shoot him) to poach the "Rabbi" buck, they won't hesitate to take one off a cemetary. I'm not trying to pick a fight or anything, but some people are just that way. The more of us that go look at him during lunch and after work, may give him a better chance.
Again, thanks for sharing the pictures.

Had a buddy from California tell me that he'd just seen a bull ELK down by the University....I can see how he'd be confused :)

Gaetz, thanks for the nice words. I have nothing against Bessy. I don't even know the guy, but when someone singles out, and slams a single group of people ,as he did, I will call them out on it.

Sadly, in this world, there are some real no gooders, doing some pretty bad stuff. Look at what just happened in Colorado. And sadly there are a few individuals, that would try to take that buck, but they are not stick flippers in the connotation he so often uses, to put down bowhunters and bowhunting, no more than if someone was to accuse the smoke pole crowd. The people that fit into the group, that would do something like that, are simply just scum bags.

So I stand by what I said, for those reasons.

Have a good one. BB

Sadly, even with lots of eyes on him, that didn't help Rabbi until it was to late, and one of Bess's basin brothers didn't use a stickflippeer to commit the crime.

Hopefully it don't happen to this guy unless he again ventures to the hills. But you can't fix stupid, and they walk among us.

And I don't throw that term around lightly. I am a native Utahn and feel the same way you do BB, the simple reality is that unless this deer is watched 24/7 with an armed guard - and I do mean 24/7 - there is a great likelihood that this deer will get slivered (much easier to conceal than a gunshot, but then again, who really reports gunshots in SLC any more?)this year. I hope not, unless of course he does head for the hills and is taken legally.

Remember though, we are talking utards here!

Since they had him on the news, he is getting harder to photograph. I used the equivalent of a 600 MM lens. But most people that go to see him, use their cell phones and walk so close they he gets up and leaves. After a few times like that, even he gets pretty jumpy.

Absolutely awesome buck!! Great pictures!! I am, however, sick to my stomach because I had this buck last year on the late hunt at less than 30 yards and could not get a shot off. I got in pretty tight on him 2 more times in the snow and just couldnt connect! But thats bowhunting! He had a double-main-beam last year and his sheds scored 218". Good to see him back this year and looking just as impressive! Thanks for posting the pictures! Kip

Great photos BB I never get tired looking at big bucks especially when they are of such great quality. Keep up the good work and thanks for posting them up.

BB could you post a full body pic, or one from farther back to get a better perspective of his rack to body. If you have one next to another deer that would be great.

I really don't have what you most likely want, but here's a couple that shows him next or by other deer.

Those were just some of the culls, but its the best I have of what you ask for. They are poor photos I know, but hopefully will show some of what you wanted.

Can you imagine the accusations that would be thrown at the guy who
was to catch this buck on legal ground and legally harvest him.

Would it be worth it?
