Here is the buck that I was able to harvest opening day of the Nevada archery hunt.

Thanks for the comments.

We had hunted the hills that morning and seen some other nice bucks up high. We decided to take a trip after antelope since I also had that tag. On the way back to camp, 4 bucks were on the side hill. I looked at the first 4 point, which was wider but not forked as good and decided that this buck was good enough. My buddy had guessed 60 yards which he was 5 yards farther from the deer. I split my 50 and 60 yard pin and let him have it. Clean pass through the lungs and the buck ran about 100 yards and fell over. We had his 8 and 12 year old kids with us and they watched the whole incident. I don't know who was happier, them or myself.

After taking this buck, we started to see the big ones. 180" and 190" bucks on the hill, so I spent the week trying to help my buddy get close to one of these. He still has some time and we know we're to find them, so hopefully he can fill his tag.

Antelope hunting was tough since the area I was hunting had also burned somewhere around 40,000 acres or so. At least one of the 2 tags were filled during the archery season.

Now I head to Utah in September for a limited entry big bull tag and hope to finish my season with a good bull. I will keep everyone posted on how that hunt goes.
