LAST EDITED ON Sep-20-12 AT 03:12PM (MST)[p]165 and about 25

Sit tall in the saddle, hold your head up high, keep your eyes fixed to where the trail meets the sky...

I Shot this buck and have current pictures of him on the ground, I would like to see some more guesses before I post the picts and score etc.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-20-12 AT 07:48PM (MST)[p]I think he's around 170" and about 25"-26" wide

There's always next year

I would have to say he scores 178 5/8 and 25 6/8 wide inside his main beams. He's a very nice buck! Congrats!!

Looks like he got better when he hit the dirt! I LOVE IT when that happens!

I will guess 24" outside and in the low 170's.

Great buck.

Those tall backs either dwarfed the fronts in the photo or they made up a ton of missing inches to compensate for the fronts.
My initial guess was 155" with 18" beams.
How long we're those beams?

Regardless of score, nice buck and congrats. Awesome job catching him on film and then harvesting him.

169 and 25" wide

When are we going to get the results?
Also, you guys that are guessing 150" on this buck. I sure would like to see the bucks you are guessing that are 170-180".

Pretty buck! Cute kiddos too. I agree that he is bigger than 155! Probably closer to 170, around 23" wide. Let us know what you have found out from your measurements.

HOOK 'EM!

Ok I have been waiting for my taxidermist to get me the official score after striping him and letting him dry, I still do not have it so I will tell you what i came up with. He is Just under 26" wide, 21" tall and scored 176.

First off great buck very pretty and congrats, now im going to be one of them a$$ hole internet scorer and call bs on the width and the score. Allthat buck has is good backs, small fronts, short beams and average mass. It takes more than that to push 180".

This buck is 22" wide and has been officially scored at 179" gross.
After posting these two pictures im gonna say bs on that buck being 26" wide and 176", its a very pretty buck but doesnt have what it takes to push 180"

pauns08, it's ok to be wrong once in a while. jk
Short main beams? They curl in and are a little longer than you think. I bet they're at least 21" or more. The G-4s look to be at least 8". So, I wouldn't say those fronts are all that small.
hunter614, thanks again for sharing your buck. I really like these guessing games.

It must be one of them bucks that doesnt look big in pictures because that buck doesnt even look close to 180" but i guess it could be, i love how the back curl forward its a sweet lookin buck

Like I said, that is not an official score that is my amature scoring, but I Can tell you that from his outside measurements he is 25-3/4" wide and he is 21" tall. I do not know why you would call B.S. on that? I will post the actual score when I get it from the taxidermist. I might be of a couple of inches off but it is going to be close.

By the way as for my story, I have been watching 4 bucks that I put on my hit list this year this guy was a late add, and is the smallest of the four. As you can see from the first pictures posted he does not look all that impressive. Those picts were taken in mid July and he grew quite a bit since those were taken. I placed 4 treestands on known routes these deer were taking. I have put alot of scouting in to figure out these areas. He came walking down the trail a little before dark He was very quiet and alert, I waited for him to pass and made a 15 yard shot quartering away. he only went about 30 yards before he piled up. I was very pleased when I got to him because he was infact larger than I had anticipated and usually it is just the opposite. He is heavier than he looked and his back forks are awesome, I wish that his fronts were bigger but they are not as small as you are thinking they are. the left side is a little smaller than the right.

I chose to do tree stands vs stalking because the area is very thick, dry and noisy they do not come into openings that you can glass very often. I also had to place the tree stands about 45 feet in the tree because the area is fairly steep and I wanted to get out of the wind.

He is a nice buck very pretty buck to and i apologize for being a picture scorer he probably is what you say he is, im sorry if i came off as a a$$ hole i should have worded it differently it just didnt look like a 180" buck but pictures never seem to do justice. Great buck and congrats your persistence paid off

After looking the pictures over and comparing them to a 175 incher that I took in Colorado a few years ago, I have come to a conclusion that a 176" score is not overly outrageous for this buck. He looks much bigger in the hands of the hunter and I'm sure he will be around that same score give or take 2-3".
Regardless, that is one heck of a buck!!!

Congrats on a great buck don't pay any attention to the pricks that question every number online. That's great your hard work payed off with a beautiful buck congrats again and thanks for sharing.

That's a great buck! In my mind what makes it a real trophy is that you hunted him. From Scouting to the placement of a treestand, to the kill. Way to get it done!
