I'm getting tired of seeing TV personality?s teaching our youth that this kind of thing is ok, and what are his sponsors doing linking them selves to a hunter that takes a shot like this?
He does recover the deer but I wonder how many he hasn't?

LAST EDITED ON Sep-28-12 AT 01:09PM (MST)[p]Lucky is all I have to say.... what you didn't see on the video was his misses and worse, a wounded deer or two. He has the the worst release I've ever seen on video... he must shoot left every time. One more criticism.... the fletching defys all physics... add weight and the arrows fly flatter. All in the name of $$$$$$$.... Ed F

I'm no pro, but that dude needs some form help. Grip looks suspect.

Anyone who has this chest thumping, pat on the back anthem as his theme song is a goon if you ask me. That shot just confirms it.

It also bothers me a lot to see long-range (or short) at animals on the crest of a hill with no way to know what is on the other side.

RE: Unethical archery shot, whats with this guy?

That has to be some of the worst advertisement I've ever seen on a bowhunting product. The guy like bowhunter stated has the worst shot I've seen in a while. He then shows and promotes a running shot at the back end of a muley at over a hundred yards. If that wasn't bad enough he then goes on and says that adding weight to the back end of his arrow allowed him to do this because it makes your arrow fly flatter. LOL the dude doesn't have a clue some how he defies physics with that statement. I just hope there aren't people ignorant enough to believe this crap and buy into a product that is crap and promotes crap.

Can we update this forum so posting with a

No different then the rest of you jacks taking shots with your rifles at 6-8-900 yds and trying to compensate for the wind, its a straight up guess if and where you might hit the animal, sorry guys just got off an antelope hunt and left the unit watching 6 goats limp around 2 with no front leg and 4 with back legs whipping around and guys bragging ya I hit that succer at 800 yds but he kept running. You all can bash bowhunters all you want but I would put some serious money down on who wounds the most animals and archery hunters aren't even in the top 2.

RE: Unethical archery shot, whats with this guy?

I don't think this thread was meant to bash bowhunters, just this guy. All of the guys that have posted so far have been avid bowhunters.

From what has come out about spook lately I don't think he will be as welcome as a hunter anywhere

A 100 yard shot doesnt bother me at all by some one that is able to every shot. What I thought was so wrong is a moving deer and faceing away at that. I would not ever take that shot even at twenty yards. He had to be holding way over that deer to hit him, not because of the yards but a moving deer.

I agree

But.....it was a 200+ inch deer.....isn't he within his rights to at least give it a shot? :)

No matter how you look at it a horrible shot. He got real lucky. A shot at 100 yards is simply too risky not matter what. Hell animals at 30 yards can move enough to get an arrow out of the kill zone. At 100 yards any shot with a bow has a huge chance of ending up very badly. Especially in this case with a walking animal moving away. The animal and the hunt deserve more respect than this... Too much can and will wrong. Leading to a slow painful death. While bad shots happen and animals are lost it is our responsibility to do everything we can to ensure clean kills.

I saw this show when it aired. When he made the shot I had to go kick my dog a few times(joke)!!! But it did confirm the guy is and idiot/sell out and will never be welcome in my camp.
