LAST EDITED ON Oct-04-12 AT 01:24PM (MST)[p]I was on the Books for the Muzzy elk hunt helping a friend. In a week there I never seen a really nice buck. Granted, I was mainly hunting elk, but in a week in the Books, you would think I would stumble upon a nice buck or 2. I seen half a dozen or so in trucks or hanging in trees. I only seen one dead 4 point. Mainly descent 3 points and smaller. I did hear of a 34" buck and a nice heavy 6x7 taken by the same camp. I never did see these bucks. I think the Full moon and hot weather made it tough for both deer and elk hunters.

Too many guys jumping down peoples throats, lowballing scores, etc. Why post when your just going to be torn down?

Yes it has been slow for pics especially muzzy. Im sure a lot of it is due to the score/judge nazis on here but you don't need to post a number just a pic. I have never posted a pic on here so I can't complain to much but I'd still love to see some. I helped a friend and his dad this year on an elk hunt and we closed the deal on a great bull maybe I will try to figure out this picture thing and post him up to hear your thoughts. a little help would be appreciated on posting a pic.

Nice hemionus, odocoileus!--sorry, I couldn't resist the play on words.
Congratulations!

Nice bucks you guys........thanks for posting. Only 12 more days until the Elk-Deer opener here in MT. You would think that seeing everybody's success would make the wait easier, but it doesn't.........Come on Oct 20th......

I'll have to check but, I'm pretty sure I have some video and pics of your buck. Congrats on a sweet buck.

Thanks for posting up your brute even though as said! I believe that most guys who continually berate on others bucks are just frustrated hunters who haven't been able to find the kind of success that they want. Another example of a thread sure to draw criticism would be one where the OP claims numbers far exceeding of that which the picture clearly shows.

I've posted pic's from the successes of most of my hunts and a lot of fishing trips as well here in these pages and have found it rare when a negative comment is made. I come here to see more of the kind of stuff that i like to do. I sure would like to get a buck like yours!! A Dandy, Congrats!!

It was in that general area. Filmed to monster 3pts, (3x4's) right close to there. Just checked the film, neither one is him. Sorry man... Both these bucks fork in the front. I was hoping that I could give you some cool pics of your buck on the hoof.

Nothing to be ashamed of there he is a great buck. With a cheater to top it off congrats and thanks for sharing. He'll look great on your wall

I'm with Bonehead - lets see some Books bucks. I have the same tag and am getting stoked. My wife and I sent the kids to grammy and pappy's for the weekend and spent the weekend roaming around out there. Saw a TON of deer which is a good sign but no shooters which is getting me a bit anxious. I know they are there bsased on previous scouting trips but I was hoping to see some this weekend.

I did get to help a guy fill his spike elk tag but that is a different story for a different forum. Actually quite a funny story!! :)

Bonehead, I'd love to colaborate if your interested. PM me or give me a call (801-362-9997).

Good luck and yes!!! - lets see some Book Cliffs buck pics!!

Connected on this buck after 9 days of hunting. Saw some better bucks than this one for sure, just couldn't close the deal on them. Had a great time though!

Congrats on a stud of a buck. Score is over rated. There is much more that make a buck/animal a throphy. Not to mention the total enjoyment of the hunt. If score is all you are after, I'm sure that other area's of the hunt have been deminished. Everyone would love to kill a 200 inch buck, but it does not take that to make a hunt successful.

Thanks for posting and sharing.

a hair shy of 26 wide. Killed him within a couple hundred yards of where he was during the archery hunt (we also saw him).

I'm headed up there Thursday to hang out and help my uncle. Is anyone seeing a lot of Coyote's?

I seen atleast one coyote a day on the muzzy hunt. Got one shot but I missed him. The other days they ran off as soon as they seen me. I could have killed most of them with a riffle. The muzzy is too slow.
