there is a lot of talk about the books and it seems like there are a lot of good deer killed down there. my question is which season kills bigger bucks? Archery? Muzzle-loader? Rifle? its about sixes from what ive seen so far. rifle and Archery close tie and ML bringing up the rear

"Shoot Straight"

I would have to disagree with that...I've had a book cliffs tag myself along with many friends. I spend alot of time out there, i would say 1)Muzzleloader 2)Archery 3)Rifle.

I haven't posted any pics for about 5 years... Can anyone tell me how to post pics right from an iPhone? Thanks

Most of the big ones I've see come out on the rifle hunt but if you know what your doing you could get them with a muzzy. You may see the big ones with a bow but its never a guarantee you will shoot anything with it let alone one of the big ones. Out of all the guys I know of at the archery clubs and all the hunts ive been on out there none of them have killed anything over 160 most end up chasing good bucks but always settle when their time runs out with a 2x3 or 3x3 dink buck.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-19-12 AT 07:12AM (MST)[p]I think a lot of it depends on the year, between muzzleloader and rifle.

Depending on the year, the muzzy hunt can be hard because the deer may be in transition between summer and winter range. Seems like it is a better hunt when they are still in their summer range on top. The few years I've ventured out there during the rifle hunt, we have found deer easily, though trips a week or two after the rifle is over have turned up more bucks, some larger than we had seen during the hunt. Weather has an affect.

My guess is better bucks are killed on the rifle hunt...
