I had no tag but went out yesterday to scout for a friend who was hunting the other side of the unit. I sent him a pic of this buck but haven't heard back from him yet. Was curious what peoples opinion is on this buck off the Vernon. He walked to 150 yards from me before he winded me.

I saw 19 does and 6 bucks (2 2points,a 22-23" 4point, 2 out past their ears going over the top of the mountain, and the buck in the photos).

I picked up this crabby three point on the hike out.

It ain't near the Buck Wisz is looking for!(Christmas Tree Buck!):D:D:D

Hello Mr. Wisz,This is the UDWR Calling....LMMFAO!
15" Bases?
30" 5ths?
GOOD GAWD A MIGHTY!

The trophy is in the eyes of the beholder but based on the area; yes, I would shoot.

lets put it into perspective

you waited 10 years plus for a rifle tag and you have never set foot on the unit. Are you going to shoot it at first light? If you do you're an idiot! No way am I going to waste 10 plus years on a hunt that lasts 15 minutes.

Now if I waited 10 plus years and scouted the unit relentlessly and that is the best buck I turned up all summer you would be stupid to not shoot it at at first light.

That buck is a dink on a typical year on the vernon unit. It will probably only go 155 or 160. Last day last hour buck if you know what you're doing.
