Shot this buck in his bed at 155 yards on the second day of the general season. We were pushing the brush through a canyon with four other friends two on each side of the canyon. As i was walking i stopped to glass the opposite hill side and saw my buddy standing probably 100 yards or so behind and below me looking at his phone. Which prompted me to look at my phone, i had two missed calls from him so i called him back and he said do you want to shoot this 4 point? and i asked is it nice? he said yes its ok..... i was able to make my way back to him. As i got back to him we were looking at the buck through our binos, i said i dont know man he looks kinda willowy, i sat there for a good 3 minutes or so wondering if i should shoot or not....anyway our other friend was only a few hundred yards above and behind the buck on the opposite ridge, i told my friend who was standing next to me hes getting spooked what should i do? He said just shoot him or i will. So i decied to take the shot. One shot form Browning .325 is all it took he didnt even get up. As we were making our way over to the buck i was telling my friend im probably going to regret shooting this deer, because we are dedicated hunters and can only take two deer in a three year span and this is my first year of the program. Our other friend made it to the buck first, i was yelling across the canyon to him guiding him to the deer, and i yelled is it nice? we couldnt hear his respone because it was windy. Anyway me and my friend made it over to the deer and we were both surprised to see how different he looked up close. i asked him why didnt you shoot it? he said i didnt think it was this big! He looked nothing like he did through my scope and binos I dont know if it was the lighting, the background or what because he did not look this big in our optics. Heres a couple pics!

Thats a good looking buck. Can't believe your friend passed that up either. Maybe time to upgrade the optics lol.

Congrats on a mighty fine general buck.

He had Swarovski binos! I had leupold.

"Kinda willowy"? No "ground shrinkage" on him! you'll always remember him as "Willow"! Sweeet buck!

I sure wish i could find myself a willow horned one like that. Congratulations on a great buck.

Don't be afraid to live for fear of dieing.

As a non-dedicated hunter (you know what I mean), I have shot exactly one buck every three years for the past 6 years... 2 bucks, nothing of this caliber. And next year I'll be hunting the Books LE.

Congrats man... He's a dang good one.

That's a great buck! Don't feel bad was my first year too! Next time your buddy gonna have to take first shot.
