Looking for some direction to just go look at rutting bucks as well as on the winter range. Curious how they are coming back. Any suggestions? I've never been in these units. Thanks.

Any more suggestions before I drive all the paved roads in the units looking for some good photo ops?

Drive Hwy 149 to PowderHorn.
Saw lots of deer on the flats on the LH side of road right before you got into town. Probably a private ranch - IIRC it was pasture land. This was 2nd rifle back in '06.
I remember watching some yahoo's pacing a nice 6x6 elk running alongside the road in their rig with a rifle out the window in broad daylight. TFF.

A lot should be hung up on private, along the paved roads. Lots of deer out in the lake bed on the new growth since its way below pool level. Also a lot of cattle in the area so a lot of deer were in the pastures not being grazed.
