Here is a few photos and short story of my 2012 MT buck.
I shot this on guy on the first evening we hunted in north east MT. We weren't seeing many mature deer this year, in fact, this was only the second one we saw that day. I shot him coming up out of a coulee with a few other bucks at about 200 yards.
He scored 164 1/8, no giant but a pretty good buck for the area. His upper mass measurements were all greater than the lower ones which was pretty cool.
The body size and fat on him was really good too, as well as the other deer we took, they all seemed to be in great shape.
All in all we went 4/4 on 4 decent bucks but we didn't see many mature deer at all. Good news is there was a pretty fair amount of fawns and small bucks so hopefully they can mature here in the next 2-3 years and start recovering from the brutal winter 2 years ago.
