I think it would be Utah if you are a non resident and you get a general tag,but if you draw the premium tag the price go's up ,then nevada would be cheaper.

When talking about expenses in a out of State hunts. Fuel costs have to be a major consideration. My typical fuel expense on outa State hunts to Colo or Wyoming, runs me about $1000. That right there can get a guy, who has to seriously budget or do without elsewhere just to go, to stay closer to home.

So for me living in N. Cali, Oregon or Nevada would no doubt be less costly to hunt.

My favorite and cheapest hunt are the ones close to home"UT" luckily for me I am not to far at all to be able to hunt fish whatever You definetley have to look at the big picture. Some states have a stamp/hunting license/ archery license.... etcon top of the regular license, Permit fees are the least of my worries when hunting out of state.
Fuel and the time off work is what gets me. The days I take PLT can really add up fast. I try not to look at it that way and just love to be out huntin.
Seems like time and money just never will work togather.

LAST EDITED ON Dec-15-12 AT 02:39AM (MST)[p]If you are applying as a nonresident for premium hunts, UT and OR are the cheapest because you won't draw tags and have the expense of going hunting. :)

OR has the stingiest nonresident cut at 5% that gets cherry picked in the guide draw first. UT has the SFW tag grab on a somewhat low 10% nonresident cut to start, takes 1/4 to 1/2 of the real primo tags.
